What happened to the topic that was discussing opening and closings of food and such in the area?

In any case.

New burger bar opened?

And in sad news Arbys seems to have suddenly closed down on 13.

Putting down my spreadsheet again.

Been trying to hit up some of the new places, as well as spots that are more difficult to travel to on my days off. I love the vibes of Coal Yard Cafe, just... not so much the food. Still need to find what is good there. (Helps that it's best accessible from Myron Taylor, and I'll usually go after my morning class and stay a little bit.) Out of newer spots I've recently tried: Steamy Dumpling was quite good, Sedona Mesa was okay, Farm to Feast is really neat if you can get there, Qahwah House has a quite nice dessert.

On the list to try:
Patsy's
Thompson and Bleecker
The new burger bar
Pudgie's
Mia
Hound and Mare
The rest of the "really expensive and looks like primarily things I don't eat" restaurant row (Simeon's, Cent Dix, Mercato)
Speaking of really expensive and looks like primarily things I don't eat, Boatyard Grill, also Moosewood
Modern Ohana
Texas Roadhouse (I know it's a chain, I've never been, shut up)

A couple places that will suck to get to by bus - Salt Point, anything in Trumansburg, Antlers, I've heard great things about an ice cream place in Dryden

And then a couple places I really can't get to by bus - Here in Hector (super high on my list, also 9 hours walking), State Eatery in Newfield (technically doable but 40 minutes walking one way from the bus stop, being in the middle of nowhere, and missing the bus back would be a nightmare).

Of the places that are hard for you to get to:

State Eatery is closing around Thanksgiving and the owners are moving out of the country, so you should try to go if you can hitch a ride. Are you more interested in the bakery part or the barbecue part? If it's the barbecue, you could also add Fitnell to your list, though they have limited winter hours (and are out sort of near Salt Point.)

I really like Salt Point, and the Antlers is a classic place I don't get to often enough. It was my mom's favorite place in Ithaca.

Shit, State is closing so soon?

Not sure who I can reasonably hitch a ride from, but I might have to bite the bullet and walk it then..

Actually, it looks like State Eatery is on the part of the route where you can just tell the driver where you want to get off, but as you pointed out the bigger issue is that the route just doesn't run that often.

Did not know there was a flag zone. At least saves me the walking. But yeah, going there and then sitting there for 4 hours waiting for the next bus 😭
