Certainly some really unfortunate conversions allowed on 3d and long or 4th down. At the same time, a pair of clutch 4th down stops in the red zone, a handful of sacks and a nice tip-drill interception also (iirc) in the red zone.

As I type, some awful tackling led to a reception to the Cornell 1, which G'town punched in on the next play to make it 35-14.

On the other hand, the offense has been relentless. Only one bad pass that I recall from GBS and a few really nice ones.

As G'town flubs an onside kick (illegal touch when the ball bounced right up into the kicker), I wonder if a backup will get a drive to take some reps. And the answer is yes. Devon Page in the game.

ugarte

Not much action for Page as he hands off twice before Cornell switches to victory formation to run out the clock.

35-14 Final.

G'town's best player was RB Clay Ash, who headed to DC after a couple of years as a walk-on at West Virginia.

Ugarte, thanks for the running game diary; I wasn't able to watch or follow the score so this was a recap.

It's hard to enjoy Cornell football with the current headlines.

Understandable, but since none of the men involved are/were football players, I'm able to separate my disgust over the Chi Phi incident with my rooting interest in Cornell football.

Nice road win, I'm glad they committed to the running attack gaining 181 yards. Great receiving game with Sam Musungu and Brendan Lee both making big plays.

The University must answer for its policies generally to sexual assault and its response specifically to this incident.

they're working on it bud, we're discussing it in the general section of the forums. we're allowed to enjoy things about cornell, like sports, without it immediately being dragged into culture war bullshit about "but the rape case!"

the rape case was awful. it should not define cornell.

This has nothing to do with culture wars. The fact that you think it does is part of the problem.

I'll check the general forum.

Likely find out next Saturday against Harvard.

Brutal early schedule: a ranked Colgate; both defending Ivy co-champs (Yale and Harvard); then top-five Lehigh.  Bit of a breather yesterday.

Harvard beat Colgate yesterday on a hail mary with a lateral. incredible play.

Which shouldn't even happened. Harvard had lined up for a 57 yard FG attempt, but a false start pushed them back 5 yards. I said to myself before the Hail Mary that the false start was going to give them a better chance, as I didn't see any likelihood of a freshman Ivy kicker booting a 57-yard kick. While we'll never know for sure, I think they lucked out with the chance to throw the pass.
