Just a heads-up.

It looks like our game time is 6:00 PM Mountain time on Friday, which is 8:00 PM Eastern Time. That's what the actual ticket sale site shows, and also the time in the email Cornell just sent. However looking at the official NCAA Bracket, they show 6:00 PM EDT. That's wrong.

Thank you. I've been looking at start times and been confused by some of the choices.

Where are you seeing that? Everything I see says 6 eastern.

Cornell sent an email to season ticket holders offering a special sale, and saying game time was 6:00 PM, presumably in the location where it is taking place.

I then went to the ticket sale site, and it also shows game time as 6:00 PM. There's no reason the sale site would be showing Eastern time.

The arena website says doors open at 11:30am and game one is 12:30pm. Says CU to play at 4.  Pretty sure Cornell will play at or about 6pm EDT.

The ticket site is probably using your location to give you the time.

If CHN, the Cornell schedule, and NCAA bracket show 6 eastern I would expect it to be that.

This is what I saw that made me think the bracket was wrong and the ticket sale site and email from Cornell were correct. Now thinking maybe both of those are wrong. I just don't know why the email from Cornell and the ticketing site would give the game time in Eastern Time when the game is taking place in Mountain Time. That just doesn't make sense, but may be what happened.

When all else fails, speak with a human (I know, sacrilege in this time of our AI overlords...)

I called the box office at Blue arena in Loveland. First game (Minn. St and WMU) is 12:30 Mtn time/2:30 Eastern
The CU-Denver game will then start ~4pm Mtn time/6pm Eastern.

(I'll also post this in the Loveland Regional thread)

Sorry for having caused confusion. Thanks for getting it cleared up.

Its funny how often these times get confused because they dont just post information to make it clear.

Add a few more chars, 4pm MT and 6pm EDT or whatever.

You want people to travel, and watch, make it easy to understand.

I still can't figure out the logic in Cornell using Eastern time (without saying that) when trying to sell tickets.

I mean sure, maybe if you are telling people what time to tune in, then giving the game time in the time zone you think people may be in when watching may make sense, though of course as upprdeck says, a few more characters to clarify don't cost anything. But this was an email trying to sell tickets to the game! Anyone going is going to be in the Mountain Time zone when they go. What possible reason, other than it just being a mistake, could there be for giving the time in any time zone other than the one the game is taking place in?

I'm still shaking my head.

Don't forget to submit your picks in the CHN bracket contest!

I've got Cornell over Dartmouth in the final in Vegas. It'll never happen, but if it does I get to win a contest and see 90% of college hockey fans livid.

Quote from: BlueSky on Today at 06:15:04 AMI listened to the USCHO special podcast about the brackets and Jim Connelly, who is a smart analyst and bracket guru, stated a few times that the committee put Penn St. in ALB because they travel better than Cornell. This surprised me. We showed great at Springfield, less so in Manchester, and we host that little game in MSG every year in front of 17k.

Maybe I'm looking at it through red tinted glasses, but I was hopeful for ALB, but losing to Princeton sealed our fate as far as making it easy for the committee to send us west.

Hopefully the boys will get on their front foot in CO. Take out the Pios.

please for the love of good - listen to our podcast instead. I am just not going to comment any further on that first sentence because I need to go throw up.
