Be thankful that you're not a Seattle Mariners fan....
I tried being a Mariners fan, fun fact.

Turns out I despise baseball too much to actually care about a team. It's DREADFULLY boring. Similar to soccer and basketball, sorry to say.

Banana ball, on the other hand, is great. And I chose the right team there, the Party Animals :)

Not sure I agree. Watching at home is usually better than being there for this sort of observation so I could be wrong but at the rink it felt like our energy was meh and we could establish little effective zone time. Lots of east west hero puck. Natural result is breakaways the other way.  way.

Possible trap game syndrome also and Princeton is a decent to good team at home on senior night with Ben behind the bench so not the worst loss big picture. Dont buy the tired argument.  I'm old so I'm tired. They're young.

So now we're basically at the stage of beat SLU and we're in the tournament even with a loss to Clarkson. Lose both and we're in trouble.

You want to win both to be safe. But either way, more likely that we also need to have a decent ECAC playoff showing.

Cornell didn't play terrible but didn't play great either. Too many defensive breakdowns or miscues along with a fluke goal that changed the complexion of the game. Cornell looked mostly ineffective offensively after the 1st thanks to a combination of neutral zone traps, goaltending, and posts

I mean, it's their senior night. All things being considered, makes sense they'd work their tails off for this one. We seem to have trouble after highly emotional games too. Wouldn't be surprised if the Red were coming off the emotional high and exhausted too.

As I said after the game @ Lynah, they were going to be fired up for us.

That's my assessment, too.  That and a tendency to look for the pass first and the shot second, especially when they pulled Cornoyer.  But let's give credit where credit is due:  Princeton played their asses off.  And we didn't.

I agree with this assessment. Ben knows these players inside and out, and their Senior Night, they played great and Cornell didn't bring it. While not the end of the world, this one stunk because of how high I was flying off that big win against Q, where we showed how to rise against a tough and talented team. This one was as disappointing to me as the loss to BU at MSG.
Lets take care of business against SLU and Clarkson.

VIEWfromK

What a stinky game.  None of the giddyap from just twenty four hours earlier.  Cornell lost the race up the ice all night.  It was a disappointing flip of the script.  They played two plus bad periods last night.  It made me almost forget how high their ceiling can be.  No balance throughout the lineup and the goalie getting hung out to dry is a bad recipe.  Them not finishing the deal last night takes the luster off of Friday
