Not a surprising outcome. As discussed earlier, both the eye test and the metrics suggest Quinnipiac is a considerably better team. The breathing room is gone now, gonna need to win at a high clip for an at-large bid.

I don't think they are considerably better.  They are faster.  We are bigger.  They are older.  The skills are about even.  I think our goaltending is better, their scoring is better, and team defense is about equal.

On the merits these are both Lake Placid teams.  And there, as we know, anything can happen.

A tying goal in the 2nd could've really changed the tenor of the game. And yet another good offensive team visits Lynah on Friday in Dartmouth

Quote from: imafrshmn on January 17, 2026, 09:13:13 PMCredit to those who share in the agony of defeat. Particularly against the Deerticks. Rarely does a consolation goal offer this much consolation.

Devlin has a lot of relatives here in the Statler including his lovely grandfather whom I chatted with this morning. A little more consolation that they got to see him get the goal.

Damn, I miss a game and they lost 😡
I was able to listen in but coming home and seeing some of these comments had me cracking up.

I just watched some of the replay and we struggled with connecting on the passes and maintaining the offensive zone
They were smothering us and it worked

Pretty bad showing today. Quinnipiac is good but they made us look bad. Indecisive again in our own zone cost us a few times. Also didn't love Devlin getting too excited after scoring to make it 4-1 with 2 minutes to go, feel like that would've gotten him reamed out by Schafer. Cournoyer needs to work on rebound control. Next weekend should be fun, win on Friday to lessen the pressure for Saturday.
