The crowd sounded dead silent on the broadcast. No chants at all basically. Couldn't tell if it was just the broadcast.

The crowd was definitely not very active. Occasional cheers but it was relatively silent a lot of the game aside from the play and conversational level sound

Meh.  There wasn't a lot of cheering other than when a goal was scored. The band was fairly small and didn't lead much cheering.  The friend who was with me said that the townies are generally quiet these days. So really only A & B are cheering.  That and the canned music dampened any cheering or chants during stoppages.

Kinda disappointing.
Yep, townies aren't very loud in my experience. And the band was surprisingly small and not on its best day, either.

Good win, love seeing Ryan do what he's been doing, it's so nice when freshmen are pleasant surprises, speaking of which, like DiGiulian and Cournoyer. It was funny to see Gio apologize after the period for selling what could've been an goalie assist.

Crowd was big but yeah pretty quiet. That'll happen when you have a half band, no cowbell guy, and a shitty opponent. Tomorrow is already sold out and we have some low hanging fruit with daddy's money and UConn rejects chants so it should be a little better.

Wonder what's up with Major.

I would imagine tomorrows net has to go to Cournoyer.

The difference in that game was one goalie gave up rebounds and one didn't.  I'm still not sure how that first period scramble in Cournoyer's crease didn't result in a goal.  After that sequence he was brilliant.  Pretty sure the one he gave up went in off a Cornell body.  There were a few too many early breakdowns where you look up and all of a sudden Brown has an odd man rush that originated in the offensive zone.  Luckily they just couldn't finish.  It became another case of survive the first period.  The Wallace-Catalano-Devlin line was the most consistent of the night.  Sure wish Wallace had got a little more air on that one.  All he needs is to get on the board to complete his comeback.  DiGiulian continues to have a nose for the net.  His goal and the second Ryan goal and the Walsh goal were all because someone simply put the puck to the net.  What percentage of Cornell's goals are by freshman (I don't feel like looking it up)?  I sure hope Major isn't out for long.

Watching the replay...loved the pregame ceremonial puck drop between the two goalies. Nice. #KenDryden

What is going on with the ice? Is it weird shadowy film noir or does it look that bad in-person?

The canned music has got to be stopped now before it settles in and destroys our environment.  I assume it's just incompetence, not malice, but everybody needs to reach out and energize other fans and demand they end this bullshit immediately.

I always assume something so vile must be a profit center, but in this case I can't see it as a cash grab, just thoughtless stupidity.  So let's kill it before it kills us.

Agreed. The Lynah experience of years past seems to be teetering on an existential cliff.

There has been a cowbell person, but whatever they're striking sounds like a soup can, not an actual cowbell, so it's barely audible even if you're on that side of the rink.

I was told they have some problem with the lighting.

I'm sorry but I can't hear you, my ears are still ringing.  And if my voice sounds hoarse don't worry, it was just from trying to have normal conversation with the person sitting right next to me

A couple observations:

- Cornoyer was definitely screened on the Brown goal.  No idea if it deflected, but he couldn't see it anyway.

- Definitely a lot of shooting from outside.  Put the puck on net.

- The passing on the power play was quick and crisp.  Nice to see.

- We took the puck away from Brown rather easily in our own zone.  When our d-man got on an attacking Brown guy there was usually a trailer, who the d-man could knock the puck to.

He also had a sense of rhythm comparable to a farm animal with a few extra chromosomes.

I think our usual guy will be back next week.

At this point I think unit two is better than unit one.  Unit two is typically only getting the final thirty seconds but they are looking to make plays.  Unit one is still doing too much perimeter work for my liking.  Still waiting for lanes to open that rarely do.

The one thing that pisses me off so much on the power play (not just with us every team does it) is how right at the last second of the power play, they force a shot. This is by far the stupidest time to shoot because if it gets blocked the other team has a free breakaway, and you have a few seconds before the guy out of the box gets back to the defensive zone anyway.
