Among US players. No idea why they break it down this way, other than tho get more content out of it. Also, anybody know why College Hockey NXT should be regarded as a reputable source?

I missed that since RPI's player, Grayson Burzynski, is from Winnipeg. However, he is a dual citizen, born in Iowa.

I'm looking at the incoming players, and I am very excited to see them play. This is a special group that is joining 3 more excellent recruiting classes. There is a lot more CHL experience than I registered before. When this team gets to know each other on ice and starts to click, it will be fireworks.
Especially focused on the potential of Cal Hughes, Brad Gardiner and Coco Armstrong- with goaltending from Rousseau and help from 'puck moving defensemen' hopefully translates to keeping the puck in the opposite end.

43 in 52 last season in the USHL 6-1 195, +7, I expect to see him in some games. It is a big class, so ice time will be fought over. With 5 (?) seniors and several sign-able juniors, they want him ready.

I'm fine with the 5 years -- it's defensible. I want the Ivies to drop their performative nonsense and adopt everybody else's rules.  The brand will survive.

I'm curious how many of our athletes can afford a fifth season anyway?  In past conversations a couple impacted by COVID said they would have loved to finish at Cornell but couldn't afford to so they transferred.

They weren't allowed to stay.

Didn't Andreev get a special waiver to stay?  I believe the guys I spoke to didn't pursue a waiver because of the cost of another year at Cornell

There was a lot going on. A guy like Galajda wanted to stay, but the Ivies dragged their feet on whether to allow players who missed the whole season, an additional year of eligibility. Before the Ivies could make up their mind, Galajda left. Andreev was given that extra year eventually somehow -- trying to jog the memory banks. I think it was only if 2020-21 would've been their senior year. But then someone like Jack Malone, who also missed a full year (his sophomore year), was not allowed an extra year of eligibility, so wound up playing his "5th year" (really 4th) at Boston College.

In determining how optimistic we should be, for these twins, just like most of our 16- and early-17-year-old commitments, there's no real information to rely on. It's pure wait-and-see. That's just how it is unless the kid is on the USNTDP or was taking in the first round of a junior hockey draft or something to that effect.
