I'm pleased to announce that this weekend the Pep Band will be recording a new CD live at the Harvard and Brown games.
If you need any other excuse to come early and be loud, this is it.

Have you arranged for another miracle for this CD?  ;-)

I was disappointed that the pep band did not play their new hit song, Brass Bonanza, for the CD tonight.  I sure hope they play it tomorrow.  That will make the CD a huge seller.

Wow, Sean Burke posted to the hockey forum.  Personally, I would've been more swayed if it'd been Kevin Dineen.  ;-) :-P

My personal opinion, but I sure hope we don't need a miracle tomorrow night.  Yes, that is a nice touch in the last one, but...

Brass Bone

Have no fear, J.. Sean. It'll be there.

Are there plans to get the Imperial March, which didn't make it onto the last CD?  Also, we had a "Hey Bâby", but no Austin Powers.

I wonder how much of last night's energy will show up in audio.  (Will Adam Wodon--whom I finally met last night--be immortalized in the radio call?)

Have no fear Whale fans, Brass "Boneanaza" will in fact be on the CD. It was recorded very pregame on Saturday.
Imperial March was also run tonight for those interested.

Kevin Dineen

Phew.  I was bummed because I thought that Brass Boneanza was never played.  Rumor has it that you played it five times just to make sure it comes out good.  I love the Cornell Pep Band.

cool about the CD but I am sorry to say that it will not have the all-impressive cornell come back vs brown that the other cd had! i am sure it will be a good cd though :-)

I coulda sworn I heard an Austin Powers.

I hope the crowd noise from Friday comes across on the CD.  I'll certainly buy it.

when is this coming out and who do we talk to to get a copy?

curoadkill

The CD probably won't be ready until around the end of this semester. I'll be sure to let everyone know when it's availble and how to get one. One thing I know now is that they will be for sale at all home games next season.

I just recently picked up the original "Live at Lynah" CD (Chris, thanks for steering me in the right direction) and thoroughly enjoyed listening to it on the ride home from the Harvard/Brown weekend.

Glad to hear that the Imperial March will make the new CD (and I still think this would be a better song to herald Cornell's return for the third period than the Rocky Theme and its underdog connotations is --but I've already made this argument before).

One thing that I very much enjoyed in the original CD is the music overlaid with Grady's play-by-play for the Brown comeback; I just wish the CD had more of that. I'd love to hear more of that sort of thing on the new CD --I'm sure some of Grady's calls in the Harvard game were energized and I know that his call for LeNeveu's right-legpad save in the 2nd period of the Brown game was very dramatic (that was one of the post-game replays that I caught on the radio leaving the Lynah parking lot --I thought Grady was going to pass out).

Regarding Jason N's comment about the "Rocky" theme, I have to strongly agree.  IIRC, when it was first introduced, its use was more appropriate, as we were either losing or underdogs in the game in which it was used.  But in games where we were ahead, or clearly favored to win, it just made no sense.

It's an old enough song that I don't think we even need to use it at all, but the most it should be used is in games where we trail going into the third.

How about just playing the Mickey Mouse Club song when the opponents come on the ice and then "Davy" when the Big Red hit it?  In fact, in thinking about it some more, I think it would be tremendous to have some songs that the fans can/would sign along with when the Red come out to skate around.  If all the fans were singing, it would create an impressive wall of sound and add to the Lynah legend.
