The tournament is always graduation weekend. They both fall the weekend of Memorial Day.

Feel for the players who must miss graduation.

Not if they win a national championship. Graduation in my day (1994) wasn't a huge deal except for my family. Had to walk to the ag quad to grab the actual degree after.

My year on graduation day, they lost the national final in overtime to Hopkins.  tough day.  I don't know about you, but if its important to my family, it's important to me.

The University holds a separate graduation ceremony for the seniors on the lacrosse team if they are at the Final Four over Memorial Day weekend. I attended in 2009 and while it wasn't the spectacle enjoyed by the rest of the senior class with a procession through campus and thousands of people in the stadium, it was a wonderful event shared by the students, their friends and families and many Cornell faculty and administrators.

I hope this year it will be extra special. ;-)

I went back and forth for the last couple of days about traveling to Boston, and in the end I decided this might be the best chance to see the Big Red win a natty in my lifetime. So I've bought a plane ticket, and I got a ticket in Section 105 for Saturday's game - if we win that one, I'll figure out a ticket for Monday.
Anyone have any suggestions for places to stay, either near Foxboro (might be pretty boring) or in Beantown itself? I'm LONG past the point of "..crashing on the floor of your friend who didn't get into Cornell so they ended up at BU..", as the Sun used to note in their annual "going to Boston for the ECAC Hockey finals" articles back in the 70s. Hell, I've got a hiking/skiing buddy here who's retired from instructing at BU!

So, any accommodation suggestions are appreciated.

Let's Go Red!!!!

Providence is close enough to not dismiss it as an option given how expensive lodging in Boston is.

I'm doing the same thing. Section 107 is sold out, so I bought in Section CL7, high up & towards the center of the field. Hopefully, it'a a good seat.

BTW, Providence may be a good place to stay. It's about a half-hour drive to the stadium (plus traffic), has some great food (try Federal Hill if you like Italian), downtown for eclectic, or College Hill for places more like Collegetown), and hotels are generally less expensive than in Boston.

BTW, the I couldn't get the Inside Lacrosse promotional code, ILPOD, to work.

Providence is a great town and well connected transportation wise. I'm using PVD as my airport. Booked a flight from PVD to DCA for Tuesday morning direct for under $70. Last time with the "old" Southwest Airlines.

I was thinking about Providence as an option. But I got in touch with an old ME classmate of mine that lives in Marblehead; he's going to the game and is letting me stay at his place. Not the most convenient to Foxboro, but you can't beat the price, and he's a good friend. And I've never been to Marblehead, so that'll be new.

Looking forward to seeing this team in person - great that it's gonna be in the Final Four.

Marblehead is beautiful. It's a quaint former whaling town, with narrow streets and lots of historic buildings.

Ongoing Terrier-opponent humor has it that Mahblehead was named for an erstwhile BU player.

Remember, in the seventies, BU was closer to a commuter school. Now it's Top Fifty. John Silber, president and chancellor 1976-2002, was a regal and some said imperious leader. Silber once said, in effect: Some of the faculty don't work that hard and they should consider moving on. It was outrageous and quite possibly true. Some did move on, retire, or get the lead out. He also tried to expand BU further into Brookline and there Napoleon met his match.

I'm flying up Monday morning for the game. Three questions:

(1) What section? I'm thinking section 108 or 109 since it is more midfield and my understanding is Cornell section is 107....

(2) We fly back early Tuesday out of Logan. I would prefer to stay closer to Boston but I don't know the area. And cute towns worth between there and Foxborough? Anyplace to avoid?

(3) How is the merchandise they are selling at the stadium?
