Schoellkopf is not an intimate experience, not with a (defunct, never to be used again) running track around it. The solution is:

  • Move lacrosse to the new Ellis Hollow Road fields and build a really nice lacrosse maybe soccer field (tho they'd prefer natural grass) a la Princeton with everygreens at the ends and behind the stands. Or:
  • Remove the track, move the Schoellkopf turf to butt up against the stadium, then build 4,000-seat stands on the press box side, that and or a sloped pitch for lawn seating (there or the far end zone), and then decide how to deal with press box cameras showing an emptier stadium. Also, put a roof over the small stands for rain / snow. Then add onto Schoellkopf Hall so the building doesn't appear off-center.

I wonder if any other school in the running for a lax 2025 NCAAs berth has fans thinking this much, this early. Either we're paranoid or we are thinking of past experience.

How many people enjoy watching LAX from the nose bleeds though?

I went to the '07 Final Four in Baltimore and sat in the upper deck and enjoyed it a lot. But I like sitting higher at hockey and lax because I like being able to watch plays develop from that angle. It's not possible to get high enough at Lynah for my preference.

Yep, we went last minute to a Devils game, sat center ice but maybe 5 rows from the top, saw patterns of play you don't see from Row 12 at Lynah.

Try Section A near the band.

And thank you for the incredible setup.

I suppose if one gets high enough, one can't tell the difference. ::banana::**]::nut::

OTOH, if they use drone cameras, as Harvard did, one could sit low down (to view and hear individual players) and still use a mobile phone to see aerial views of plays developing.

OK. Now that we know Cornell will be playing next Saturday in Foxboro, here are some questions:
  • Will Cornell receive a block of tickets from NC$$?
  • If so, will Cornell sell them to alumni too?
  • Also if so, where will the Cornell section be? / Or, how can we find out where?
  • Also if so, when will they go on sale?
  • Will there be any functions planned for Cornell fans? When & where?

Symmetry?  My graduation weekend, 1987, we were playing on championship weekend. Couldn't get to the game as I was busy, you know, graduating.  Dear daughter is graduating next weekend, so I guess I'll be missing the game(s) again. Priorities priorities.

The tournament is always graduation weekend. They both fall the weekend of Memorial Day.

In 2022, the Athletics Office told me that they received an allotment for friends and family and any unused tickets would be sold online starting Wednesday.  That was a smaller stadium, but seems like same would likely apply here.  The Cornell section also moved between the semis and the final, although the Maryland section stayed the same.

I assume because Cornell is the top seed, they would have the same section on Saturday and Monday, if they make it to Monday?

I just got an email from Cornell Athletics with this link to purchase tickets.  Not sure who the mailing list is but it says first come, first served for seats in the Cornell section.

Denver to Foxboro is a tough weekend trip so I will be cheering from afar.  I envy those of you who can enjoy in person!

Note that if you buy using the Cornell link, you get tickets to the final only if Cornell advances. So if you want to watch the final regardless, you probably want to get your tickets from a different source.

Why are the games always 2.5 hours apart when that is never enough time?
