The Cornell and Syracuse men's lacrosse teams will bring a taste of Central New York to Long Island when the Big Red and the Orange meet in a colorful top five battle on Saturday, April 12 at 4 p.m. at Mitchel Field in Uniondale, N.Y. The contest will be broadcast on Corrigan Sports Network.

I'm planning to watch on TV on account of we have an 85" set, the cost of tolls from NJ about equals the cost of the pay-per-view , and we got company coming from Europe. I believe Corrigan Sports Enterprises is unrelated to broadcaster Jack Corrigan '74 (Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies). Although being there is a better experience. I am making sure nobody comes visit Memorial Day weekend to leave the Gillette Stadium option open.

Also, the weather sucks Saturday on Long Island. High-20s and snowing at Lehigh Feb. 15 is one thing, barely into the 40s two months later and it's raining men ... in red, white and orange, is discouraging. [Screengrab from Friday evening and 49 degrees]

I was going to lament the shuttering of the CU lax radio coverage here, but that article had this nugget near the end:

Presumably Cornell feels they might get a recruiting bump playing a game in the middle of a lacrosse hot bed like Long Island, and it's good for the NYC alumni base. Agreed it's too much money for a regular season lacrosse game.
