I am in pain, Trots :`-(

In other news, besides some of the usual suspects (Walsh and Bancroft at BOS, Kempf at COL, Fegaras at DAL, Casty at UTA):
Robertson (RIP) at BOS
Ashton at CBJ (drafted)
Long at LAK
Cournoyer at MTL (drafted)
Veilleux at NYI (drafted)

You're old enough to have seen four Cups AND just won the draft. I am precisely old enough to have seen zero Cups...

But Joe Nieuwendyk got one of those Cups you didn't see!

edit: TIL Jackson Nieuwendyk is a junior at Canisius.

HE SURE DID.

Oh also we're picking up an assistant coach from a div3 Vermont school. Cam Clarke.

Yes, and indeed I keeed.  Those Cups, at ages 17-20, have been enough to carry me through a lifetime.  I have required nothing from them for 40+ years.

But you had to remind me you were born after the Devils' Nieuwendyk Cup the day I applied for Social Security?

XD I'm sorry, I'm sorry!! :')

The Isles do have a sweet rebuild coming up, with Schaefer, Aitcheson, Eklund being added to other good players like Ritchie and Eiserman...

You should just start following European club hockey.  It's more fun anyway.  (I wish there were a legit way to watch the games over here; I was hoping someone might use them as a replacement for the KHL.)

The thing is, I should have been following Euro club hockey since I studied basically in the backyard of Geneve-Lausanne of the NL... lol... idk, for some reason I just can't force myself to make it a habit.

It helps if you can get to the games easily.  My apartment in Bern was maybe 10 minutes' walk from the rink, so I spent a lot of time watching SCB from the Stehplatz.  The atmosphere was much closer to college hockey than the NHL and minor league games I'd been to.  Not the same on TV, of course.

Fun fact: Justin Krueger '10, after playing in Bern for about a decade, finished his career with Lausanne HC.

Oh, for sure! I could have made it to games with the bus, but a combination of it being out of the way as well as a bout of depressiveness bad enough that I'd just not leave my bed unless absolutely necessary... I should've, but I didn't. Someday, I guess :/
