Quote from: stereaxGod damn ever since we scored the Clarkson team is trying to pummel faces after every whistle.

We can win this one, cats and kittens.  Even if I now have Archer's tinnitus.

That was a dominant period except for our first 2 pp chances.

At this point I might bring a pillow to tomorrow's game and nap during the powerplays. It's that bad...

Great to see Riley Nash and Colin Greening back on the Lynah ice (bench)!

Quote from: ChousnakeSo I was just watching the game tonight and heard the crowd singing a version of "Hey Baby" or better known as the Josh Bailey song to Islanders fans. What are the Cornell fans singing (the words)?
Hey... hey baby, I wanna know, will you kill someone?
Why do they sing that?  The Josh Bailey song was "Hey Josh Bailey.  Ho Ha. I wanna know.  Will you score a goal? "  It started because Bailey was a pass first player who went through some long droughts.  Maybe the Cornell fans should use the Islander fans' words and sing it to the power play?  "Hey Power Play. Ho Ha. I wanna know - will you score a goal?"

Try harder, lol. I think it dates back a while, back when Cornell's identity was based on beating the crap out of the other team physically.

No.  The Baby cheer predates the Bailey one by a zillion years.  We did it before the NHL copycats.  And ours has character.

I am an Isles fan, but our last great cheer was "Stand up and shout it go Nystrom and Howatt," circa 1977.

Back in the early 2000s Cornell had a player named Stephen Baby who was, to put it mildly, humongous. He was one of the senior leaders on the 2003 frozen four team - the guy whose sure thing game tying goal in the semi was deflected away by Mike Ayer's mask in one of the craziest and most heartbreaking saves I've ever seen.

Baby was physical, but kind of in the range of normal for that team. Greg Hornby was by far the most physical forward of that era, and Doug Murray (our ill-tempered Swede) was arguably the most physical player in the league at the time. But they weren't named Baby and Hornby wasn't even that big so they didn't get a song.

Lynah was an incredibly fun place to be during that era.

This has felt like a Lake Placid game.  Well played and smart, by both squads.  A lot on the line.

Hey, hey Hornby... hey Murray... Baby has a better ring to it, yeah.
