Some interesting stuff in Jane McNally's story in Sun. Not much good news.
Cornell only has one road win this year. Even if Cornell sweeps this weekend (unlikely), it will be the team's fewest road wins in 10 years. Since then, Cornell has won at least 6 road games every year.
Also, Castagna injured and may not play, although Major may return to the lineup. It also seems that Devlin and Wallace are not going to be back this season. Cornell will suit up 8 defensemen again.
Schafer talks about how team has lost some confidence. Also, this quote from him:
"It gets to be a [broken] record that you can out-chance teams. You have to win the hockey game. I'd rather be 17-7 and get out-chanced every night."

So Devlin and Wallace got injured before the season even started, were expected back at the end of January, but then never returned at all? What kind of injury is that? It looked like they had an injured foot or ankle based on photos?

Reminds me, I spotted Castagna after the Union game out of hockey gear (in compression undershirt and pants). Was hugging who I can only assume to be his father, or someone close. Looked to be in decent spirits despite the everything going on, which is always good news. No idea what he injured or how, though.

Also noticed three guys going into the Harkness room for a quick video review after the game. I can't tell most players by face especially with beanies and suits on, but I'm assuming they were the goalies. That would feel right, at least.

Most of the guys left out the back this time, a change from last time I stayed late (post-Dartmouth) where they headed out the front. However, that might also have been because I was helping two fathers corral six kids in front of A, trying to figure out how to get them back to the Commons after 10 PM when the cabs dry up in Ithaca. Don't think many guys would want to deal with that after that kind of loss. (Especially 'cause the kids were toting broken Union sticks that the Union guys gave them after the game...)

On the topic of today's game... a "power play of love"... would be a nice sentiment if our power play worked...

I'm treating myself for Valentine's Day by attending this game at the Meehan Morgue. Again, not much expectation given how the last game against Brown went

That's great but please snip the idiotic hashtag.

I'm now loving the pronunciation guide. The only names they couldn't turn into something else are  "KRAFT" and "HANK."

Having the first syllable of Donaldson as "DAWN" assumes a particular accent. Even names like "Tim" and "Ben" have changed spelling-for speaking them, but now I'm going to think about saying them with long vowels and "Hank" with a short vowel.

Cornell has fallen entirely out of the poll including receiving votes for the first time since 11/14/22.

The prior time they failed to appear in the USCHO Poll was 11/28/16.

Note also WAHLSH.  I have never heard any human pronounce it that way, though I wouldn't put it past  Donny, sorry, DAWNNY Vaughan.

It's one of those differences that lets linguists identify place:  https://loststates.blogspot.com/2011/04/say-don-say-dawn-now-i-know-where-you.html

Lots of possession but not really many shots to show for it. Puck movement could be quicker
