Cornell starts off at a strong #9 in the preseason poll with 2 first place votes. If I had to guess I would say one came from the Denver coach given how we played them last year (and he can't vote for Denver) but not sure how we got two. Looking forward to this season and surpassing expectations again.

With all their losses, Q dropping just 2 places further convinces me that western coaches don't bother  with the ECAC.  They just put in whoever made it last year.

arugula

Several ECAC schools also receiving votes. League better this year?

As is the case every season, Quinnipiac reloaded with transfers and grad students, including Jeremy Wilmer, who led the entire USHL in points three years ago and was a point-per-game player with BU the past two seasons. With grad students and transfers (i.e. things Cornell can't have), you can pencil Q in as a top ten team every season now.

I was actually in Dalmatia this summer...

So I know you canr play as a 5yr grad in the ivies. But can you play as a 3-4 yr grad?

Transfers are allowed.

Grad students are not allowed at all.

Transfers are allowed, technically. But there is a very high admissions hurdle that makes transfers de facto banned outside of very specific circumstances (eg. great students like Seger transferring into Engineering/Fusco transferring to Dartmouth from Harvard).

Surprising 3 All-League from Cornell, only 1 from Q, and 0 from H, yet 1 from D. Very unusual pattern! :-O

Of course. This is America, and the system is rigged!
