Quote from: BearLoverWhen asked in the postgame interview what the message was coming out for the third, Walsh said that they "were just doing it for a lot of the guys leaving, especially the younger guys." Huh?

Coach Schafer appeared possessed for a moment and then told the team "if you lose this game, you'll take it to your fucking graves".

*pause*

"Your fucking graves."

I'm so glad i wasn't the only one to have thought exactly that quote after it went to 4-3.

The problem is that if we lose, I don't think the ECAC is a three-bid league this year no matter what the pwr says.

The only thing that matters is what the Pairwise says.

And the Pairwise says Cornell must win tomorrow to make the NCAAs.

I was kidding.  If we lose we drop to 16.

arugula

If we win we may get to a three seed but with all the geographic shenanigans it doesn't necessarily result in a favorable placement or matchup.

Lalalala. I'm not listening to what the lousy pairwise says anymore. I only care about a shiny metal object, which happens to come with an automatic bid and just a bit of revelry.

Just win, baby.

BearLover

Who cares about the 3-seed? Let's win a championship for once. That would punch our ticket to the NCAAs. Seeding barely matters at all.

It's been FAR too long since Greening, Scrivens, the Nash bros., et al. clinched the trophy in 2010. I think we have had the tendency to undervalue the Cleary trophy since we haven't typically needed an autobid. But this team gets it done when the pressure is on and i like that. I want this for all the fans and players but especially for Coach Schafer. The old man is an inspiration.

The Cleary, like the man, is supposed to be low value. Q already has it, after all.

(Joke explanation: We're playing for the Whitelaw Cup on Saturday. The Cleary Bedpan is the like the NHL's Presidents' Trophy.)

They need to win, baby girl will be born tomorrow since she won't make her appearance before midnight. I may have made my husband watch the semi-final game since laboring mom gets to choose the channel.

Congratulations! Best wishes for you and your baby.

Quote from: DafatoneI'm struggling to remember the last game I watched with such bad camera work.

Never.  It's awful.

Try watching the video from Gutterson.  Makes to this seem Oscar worthy

Quote from: VIEWfromKWho was the most recent guy to forty points prior to Seger?  Don't feel like that happens much in these parts.

Moulson in 04-05: 22G, 20A.

We're lucky to have our leading scorer crack the low 30's in most years!

Quote from: bmacThat was an absolutely awesome game. One of my favorites. Reminds of that Princeton SF at lake placid about ten years ago with the Barlow coast to coast.

If it's the same game I'm thinking of that was Albany in 2009.  Here's the clip but I found I had to restart it as it kicks in at the end for some reason.  Great memory.

Quote from: IcebergI'm baffled why Cashman pulled Black with about 4:30 to go in regulation. I understand it's do-or-die but that was excessively early with a one-goal deficit
I thought it was a really smart move to attack the gassed fourth line when we didn't have a timeout. I would argue it was successful too as they kept our guys out there for an eternity, just didn't score.

Yeah. even though it didn't work, the way it played out it didn't look like a bad move at all.

Postgame comments in the Sun:

Quote"[Schafer] didn't say much [after the second period]. We all kind of knew what we had to do," Walsh said.
Quote"I don't think we wore them down –– we got on a roll," Schafer said. "As a coach, I've been on the other side. It's tough when [teams] get on a roll."
Quote"Our will to win never goes away," Bancroft said. "We're always positive, even if we're down goals."
