no need to be so harsh this looks pretty sharp for a youth jersey https://www.cornellstore.com/Hockey-Jersey-Youth-Red?location=&quantity=1&color=1&size=6

Maybe better than the real thing these days, as this replica has the lower stripe historically correct. The roads the team has been wearing are now just Red Wing blanks with the white going all the way to the bottom hem.  It's just wrong.

Wasn't there a season when the men's team used Red Wing blanks at home, with the red arms? ::uhoh::

I think it was Andy Iles era that happened.

Iles is not the answer...

Quote from: George64I pity the players that had to wear these jerseys during their Cornell careers.  As I recall, they were designed by a Hum Ec class.  The instructor should have been fired.

For those too young to know, or too old to remember - that's Bob Murray '74 and David Groulx '76.

Oops, Bill Murray '74.

I remember seeing some games on TV from the MSG holiday tournament during the time they wore those uniforms.

They need to do this again, if only a one game (or one season...) Can we do a Cooperall Pants game too?

Sperris

That was worse than I was expecting.

There was both Bill Murray '74, a big, solid defenseman who was also a standout soccer player, and forward Bob Murray '74, one of the freshmen who arrived the fall of 1970 just after Ned Harkness departed.

Bob Murray led/leads an interesting life, including a stint in the pros, an MFA from UVM 20 years after graduation, now lives in Taos. His life and times, "house painter to high school teacher to college instructor to music teacher to writing teacher to dream analyst."  https://www.bobmurraywriter.com/about

I found this on ebay. This was the jacket Ned Harkness designed for his first teams at Cornell.  He did a similar one for our lacrosse team when he took that job.

Harkness' team jacket
The listing says "Vintage Lg 1950s Cornell Univ Hockey Team Canvas Jacket INSANELY RARE Great".  Harkness didn't arrive at Cornell until 1963.

I know.  The seller is wrong.  I was there.

That jacket is almost a religious artifact to The Lynah Faithful.  That's why he wants $500 for it.

He should go for $5k.  I'd buy it if I thought there was any chance I'd fit in it, but I'm guessing it's too small for 2 of me.

Earliest photo I can find of this jacket.

64-65 Cornell hockey with jacket

It only needs to fit the GOOD Greg. Not both of you.:-P

Listing title has been corrected and the description includes that "religious artifact" line.

As I remember, Ned wore a jacket like that at home games and a blazer at away games.

A true child's hockey jersey would fit most adults. An adult jersey size Small is, what, equal to a 48" suitcoat?
