A recently discovered species of jellyfish has been named "Big Red"

Finally we have our mascot. I don't know why we have had someone parading around in a (yawn) bear outfit all these years. This is better than the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slug.

We need to act quickly. Nebraska is already mobilizing:

Wisconsin (who stole 1-800-GO-BIG-RED) may be close behind.

Unfortunately, the creature is quite large and may be difficult to smuggle into a harvard game. Only one tiny (juvenille) sample has been brought up from the depths. Hopefully Wegman's will get more by the fall.

Poor bastard.  Hidden from humans for millennia, and when we finally discover it, we want to yank it from the water and heave it on the ice.  (At least it is for a good cause.)

I'm waiting for some bio/sci alum to name a virus after us.  Or one of those spiders whose gestation strategy inspired Alien.

At Lynah, no one can hear you scream...

Because everybody else is yelling "Diiiiiiiiiiiieeeee".

Sorry, Greg. Couldn't resist.
