Quote from: jtwcornell91Just keep calling it the Knick.  Simpler that way.
It will always be The Knick.  The Vampire Squids can come and go -- those names will never be acknowledged.

I was glad to see Q finally gave their rink a human name.  He may have been a scumbag (I have no idea) but he's not a fictive person sociopath anyway.

Quote from: Albany Times Union, Sean MartinGalajda's arrival in South Bend was unconventional for sure as he left Cornell with 60 career wins on his resume when the Big Red did not compete last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though he picked up a big assist from his former coach, who called Jackson to vouch for a few of his players while Notre Dame was still playing during the 2020-21 season.

"I got a call from Mike Schafer and he was calling me to recommend Matthew and a few other guys that he was trying to help find a place to go play going into their grad year," Jackson said. "I spoke to Matthew at that time but told him I didn't want to commit to him until our season was over. I didn't want to make waves and Matthew was willing to wait. When the season was over, that is when we made the commitment to Matthew and it was worth the wait."
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

I'm watching the Harvard game. Harvard has had a few good chances, but Minnesota State has had the balance of the O-zone time. 0-0 with 6:30 left in the 1st. MSU is a heavy team with skill, and Gibson's had to make a few terrific saves to keep it scoreless.

And a minute after I type that MSU scores off a great offensive flurry. Goal is under review for goalie interference, but it should be a good goal.

Harvard can't handle the Mavs in their own end.

Harvard has decided to play a "green" game.  No need to Zamboni the Mankato side of the ice at the intermission.

2-0 MSU after a PP goal with about 2 minutes left in the 1st. Harvard is overmatched. I don't know if MSU will win it all, but they look like the best team I've seen this year.

Now looking at a potential 5 minute on Harvard for spearing.

The real test for MSU will be the winner of that UND/ND game. They couldn't theoretically get Michigan in the first game of the FF

Big turning point: up 3-0 MSU is stopped on a penalty shot. A few minutes later Harvard scores 2 goals in a minute, now 3-2 late in the 2nd period.

Thank God H lost. They are so talented though.

Too bad Harvard lost, but they are consistent, I'll say that.

We distinctly disagree on the first part of your comment. I made my peace with Union and Yale winning championships; that peace is unavailable in the event that QU wins or Harvard wins another. When, hopefully soon, both of them are gone from the national tournament, my mind can be at ease. Anybody else I can pull for, at least a little.

Yet, in the absence of cataclysm last week, I found myself pulling for... Quinnipiac, it disturbs me to say. What can I say? The heart "wants" what the heart "wants." I wish the hockey gods would present us with a better menu.

Sorry about Harvard, everybody. I know how badly you all wanted them to win.

In a vacuum, I'm only rooting against Harvard a decent amount. I save my full hatred for Dartmouth.

But I find their continued NCAA failures hilarious, so I root for them to keep failing.

NoDak takes the lead on Notre Dame as we move relentlessly towards an all-NCHC Frozen Four.
