So you want us to finish out of the top four of the ECAC, sweep to the ECAC title, and the make it to and lose in the Frozen Four?!

How do we lose in the FF if we finish with 8 straight wins?

Time for a "Win One for the Gipper" speech. With our luck, it'll perk up the play by Galajda.

Yeah, I know the roles got reversed. And Ronald Reagan never broke a hockey stick over his head. But maybe the Germans did bomb Pearl Harbor.

Just to be clear, they got rid of the ECAC consolation game, right?

No third-place game for the ECAC or NCAA tournament championship weekends. So in the ECAC, by definition you'll be NCAA champ: Everyone makes the ECACs, not just the top eight, so some backmarker isn't going to win a meaningless game that lets them finish 11th not 12th and then hang up their skates.

There used to be consolations. That's how Cornell finished third in the 1968 championship, by beating BC 6-1 after losing to North Dakota. That was Ken Dryden's junior year.

Note that St. Lawrence finished with a win last season.  Come to think of it, so did Clarkson.
