Just tuning in and see we're down 1-0. We're moving into "officially in a funk" territory

We're doing that thing where we play like shit against shit opponents.  Princeton, Dartmouth, Brown.  Meanwhile, we played great against Q and well enough to tie Harvard.

So who knows?

Our PK hasn't been as strong lately. We've now given up a PP goal in three straight games.

Indeed. The three teams immediately preceding the pandemic were good at beating down bad opponents. This year, it has really only happened with Yale, SLU, and the Capital District teams.

This PBP guy is something else.  He learned the guys names but watching this game feels like death by PowerPoint.

Powerful words: The comparison has people feeling bad for Microsoft.

Up tempo favors us, our stickhandling is better.  Step on it, guys.

As good as Syer and Flanagan seem to be, being without Schafer for now a month has to have some effect on performance. And I assume no Andreev again today? That certainly doesn't help things.

I keep expecting Ferguson.

Dafatone

Leave it to Brown to not have cameras.

Andreev and Kovich still out.

I agree this is a totally different team with Andreev out there.  He is the beating heart.

2, 3 years back, I mused that Cornell must lead the ECAC if not the country in hanging tough against the league's or nation's top teams and losing way too many to the bottom quartile. Statistics proved me wrong, but it still feels that way. Last 2-1/2 weeks we've failed to beat Princeton, Dartmouth and (so-far) Brown. Three of our four January wins were to the nation's 1- or 2-ranked teams (plus Yale).

My intuition is this is one of those cognitive biases we all have.  Certainly all fans believe this about their team.  I made this chart to test it.

Bupkis on the second Cornell PP, though all in Brown end except first 5 and last 2 seconds. So that's style sheet progress.
