ASU came to play in this thing, we better stop making mistakes.

Well, that was the worst penalty call I've seen in a really long time.

Yikes, Howe took a chance,  and it backfired. Summarizes the period.

Good adjustments by ASU, now we need to do the same.

upprdeck

2 goals that shouldnt have happened but still ASU had enough pressure to get one anyway.  we have no speed thru center iceon rushes.  once we get the puck into their end we control it pretty well but still we have not adjusted to speed at all and so many soft passes killing anything coming up ice.

We were really buzzing for the minute or two between the worst penalty call and the unfortunate second goal.

Still can't get over that penalty, though. I guess getting hauled down is an infraction.

We may be a ranked team but we also haven't played a game for almost a month.  This happens almost every year so give these guys a break.

considering the ecac this yr we have to play lights out thru the conf schedule to get any chance at a PWR at large bid.  need to at least go 2-2 in these 4 games to help that out.

Yeah, pretty bad period for us. ASU is a lot better than they were when they came to Lynah, which is what they should be considering they've recruited well and brought in some excellent grad transfers. I can see how they were able to sweep Clarkson. But no real excuse for how poorly we played in the 2nd.

Eh. If we go 4-0 and then drop 4 conference games, that's almost exactly the same for pairwise purposes as going 0-4 out of conference and then putting up 4 conference wins.

The weak conference hurts us, but beyond that, we just need to win games. Doesn't really matter which games.

This just isn't gonna happen.  Our chance at the NC$$ is the ECAC title, and the ECAC title is itself a goal worthy of a season.

We will have our chances in the future after the conference gets back on its feet post-plague, but for this year and probably next year, just enjoy the ride and then hope for a nice little run to give us a chance in Placid.

lol no. why should we caveat anything like that? the game counts, they are playing on their heels and deserve to be losing after that period in a game against a mediocre team. i don't think the sky is falling but the last time we saw them play the wheels fell off and they blew a 4 goal lead. everyone knows about the layoff but regardless, they don't look sharp.

Huh? It is certainly more like Cornell earns an at-large bid than that they win the ECAC. Cornell is currently 18th in the pairwise. They need only to slightly exceed their start to this season (6-1-4 against poor competition) the rest of the way to earn an at-large bid.
