Morgan Barron's younger brother, Justin Barron, was also traded today, going from the Avalanche to the Canadiens.  Justin appeared in two games for the Avs this season.

Riley Nash got reacquired by the Lightning off waivers and assigned to the AHL.

That AHL team being the Syracuse Crunch. Back home-ish for now.

Definitely good news for Morgan Barron.  Stinks not being able to see him on the Rangers but the kid wouldn't play for a couple of years here.  Average ice time of < 9 mins a game is tough unless you're just a plugger.  He needs to play NHL games and real minutes to get into the game.  Good luck too him.

I hope he can find a Taveras and capture that Moulson Magic of right place, right time.

Does Winnipeg suck enough to win the lottery?

Edit: 29-34.  Not nearly awful enough.  That's Isles territory, not Canadiens (17-46).

For Mitch Gillam, the biggest acclimation may be getting used to a uniform with graphics and more than two colors. (That may be his previous stop, the Indy Fuel.)

Leahy had a good season. Clearly the best defenseman (only positive +/- for all skaters) on a really bad team. I'm not surprised—always liked his game. Regush looks to have gotten injured midway through the season. Miami was also awful this year.

Donaldson I can't understand. Clearly not being properly utilized.

Maybe he's just a victim of being incorporated into their system later.  You don't shake up a defending national champion for one guy unless his name is Kariya.

Mitch Gillam first AHL start and shutout win leading his team to a 4-0 victory with 38 saves (against the Moose, which has Barron and Malott).

Damn!!  Bad timing for us.   We attended the Winnipeg-Buffalo game last evening in the hope that Jeff or Morgan play.  No luck.  Frankly, that NHL game was a big step down from Cornell Hockey.  The excitement & tempo were just not there.

I must mention that his start in the lineup has not been confirmed yet.

Barron in the line up for the first time for the Jets, wearing #36.

Hopefully, Angello is in the lineup for the Penguins tonight. He got called up on an emergency basis.
