TBRW Predictions

I noticed that TBRW predicted that Union would be 5th, I wondered if you included their players who are out for the season. So I looked. I know that Jack Adams is out, and there is at least one more. I don't remember who. Also RPI lost Jacob Hayhurst and some others who probably won't make a difference including Donovan Ott.
I didn't include season injuries -- that's a good catch as long as those occurred prior to their first practice.

If they happened this season then I (as they) am shit outta luck.

That's the Donovan Ott who left Cornell, I assume?

Ott never made it to Ithaca.

Now he is at Utica College, so he still might get there. ::drive::

He went to a great high school, so he gets some cred there.

wonder what the board looks like in 2-3 more years with a dozen more holes in it..

Quote from: Jim HylaAs do I. It's nice seeing replays and having a scoreboard that can handle multiple penalties as well as SOG as they occur. I don't see anything that takes away from the game or atmosphere.

The old board handled multiple penalties, and I always wondered why they never kept a live count of SOG (only updating during intermissions), but it can't be lack of technology.

The new scoreboard probably pulls in data from the software that the official scorer uses. Maybe the old one required manual updates?

upprdeck

the old one only got the data at the end of the period.

the board still does some dumb things. like SOG go away during penalties because they have 8 spots even when only 1 penalty is in use.

too bad they didnt put the board back about 10 ft and up a bit higher.. might have stopped the board from getting hit so soon.

then now have 20 seats they cant use anyway just left hanging there as dead space and the last section in each side can barely see the board.
it would be nice if they used the ribbon boards a bit more too..  one thing that might be nice is an update during the game on pt scorers for anyone coming in late or wondering if someone is on the verge of a hat trick etc some other pt streak people have an interest in.    unless a score rpt is changed you never hear again those stats.

The old board only handled 2 penalties for each team. Now that more than 2 can be seen, some fans will be able to better understand what happens when a team has more than 2.

Agree, I wondered why they didn't put it where the seats behind the scoreboard now exist. I say exist because I agree those 20, or so, seats are useless.

Utica College recognizes RPI as a high school? [see 10th preceding post]. In addition to their hockey program Utica College must have a spectacular academic program. U.C. for me!!
