Quote from: TimVHow about going to all red ice?  Same principle as Boise State's blue Field Turf football field.  Also lots of logos on the jerseys like European hockey, since we clearly need the money. Seems to work for NASCAR too.

I think you'd need a white or yellow puck to make that work.  Ugh.

Also a rule change.

Section 1, rule 1.2 of the NCAA Ice Hockey Rules: "Except for the official markings provided for in these rules, the entire playing surface and the boards should be predominantly white in color except the kick plate at the bottom of the boards, which should be a light, contrasting color." [Emphasis added]

Does this spell the end of ads on the Lynah boards?

I'd guess that just means that most ads should have white backgrounds. Look at the boards at an NHL rink, for example.

Ha!  That's a good one.

Quote from: Jim HylaCoaches pick Cornell to finish third in ECAC.
When seemingly came-out-of-nowhere Cornell played 3 OTs vs. Minnesdota-Duluth in the 2010 title game, it seemed like, we lose, no problem, Cornell women are on the rise, they'll be back. If only we had won that game.

The team played without Rebecca Johnston that season as she was on leave with the Canadian Olympic team.  In addition, the roster included only 18 players, two of whom were goalies and one of whom also played soccer.  So the fact that Cornell had the legs to go 3 OTs in the national championship game is amazing in itself.  That was a spectacular season -- going from never winning an ECAC playoff game [at least in the "modern era"] to playing in the national championship in one season is likely never to be repeated.

Doug worked some magic. They knew they would win. Reminded me of the 96 men. They don't do it with mirrors.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

Women's exhibition game tonight is on ILN at 6, as are the two men's exhibition games Saturday night at 7 and Sunday at 5.

Cornell women looking good in 5-2 win over Q in home opener.  Kristin and Sarah both with 2 goals...  Marlene looked really strong in net.

Folks this team is very enjoyable to watch - come out and cheer them on!

It's 1-1 after 2 periods vs Princeton. Refs have been allowing a lot of physicality which plays into P's hands. Specifically, P has been obstructing Kristin O'Neill off-puck to keep her from gaining her game-changing speed. We're beginning to take control of the game and get the majority of chances but P remains dangerous. 2 Great goaltenders keeping it tight in Boissonnault and Neatby.  Next goal could decide it.
