I also have 2 tickets at will call, free for anyone. Call me 315-446-8550. I don't know how to transfer them, but there must be a way. Hopefully they win and I improve enough to drive down tomorrow.:-)

They are not checking IDs at the Will Call window. I can't go to tonight's game, but my friend who went to the game with me last night is going to pick up the tickets, which are in my name, at the Will Call window tonight. I asked if the tickets could be transferred to his name for tonight, and one of the people working there told us just to have him give my name when he picks up the tickets tonight.

Quote from: Scersk '97Nothing spells victory like committing a cross-check during your last chance power play.

I don't care that he scored the first goal; I don't care how good he is on face-offs. I'd sit Weidner for taking that asinine penalty and for, generally, being a defensive liability.
In defense of Weidner, the Q player put a lot of embellishment on the play, which took place right in front of me. When Weidner saw he was being called for the penalty, he just shook his head, and the "victimized" Q player grinned. Hillbrich, who knows a lot of the Q players because his older brother had been on the team, skated over and exchanged a few words with the Q player, smiling and shaking his head like he was saying I can't believe you got away with that."
What hurt more than that penalty, was the soft first goal Gillam let in, and the fact that on Q's 2nd and 3rd goals, we let their players get to rebounds.

Not to mention the fact that we were outshot over 2-1.

Oh, I'm sure the Q player embellished, but I just don't understand why one would put oneself at any risk of taking a cross-check penalty when on the power play.

Really, I don't understand cross-checking in general. How difficult is it to take your down hand off the stick whenever you're going to hit someone? You're either doing it to injure somebody or to gain an unfair advantage in moving someone off the puck or out of an area. The only place (see Dufresne, Dan) that cross-checking is worthwhile is defending the area in front of your own crease, and, even then, one should try to be a bit subtle about it.

So we can put the Fire the Coach / Housecleaning Due in Athletics jihad on hold for a day? Plus the win over Virginia in lax. And polo must be doing well.
