Nice job today after a slow start.  3-1 at the half but 4-0 3rd period opens it up

first game all year we look avg on faceoffs.. only 5 of 13 so far..

Meanwhile #1 Syracuse loses in OT to #2 Notre Dame after coming back from deep deficit. Syracuse loses ball on shot & turnover where ref may or not have seen 2nd Orange defender closer to ball than lone ND attacker. ND scores next play. Announcers mention ND player who jumped ship from Cornell commit after coaching turnover.

Was Donovan's announcement explained at all, like maybe he got dinged last week and is resting up? 8 goals will not do against Princeton or maybe Brown, but buckling down on defense is kind of hockey-like and, uh, sometimes that works.

Colgate also beat Loyola today rather handily.  Maybe they're pretty good.

Kerwick said in postgame that Donovan could have played if conditions warranted, but he should be back for Harvard.

During the game yesterday Barry or Tom commented that we don't know if Brown (SOS #54/RPI 16) is for real yet. They're on ESPNU at the moment at Princeton (RPI 10) up 9-5 in the fourth. Brown looks very good in transition.

Yale: 1-2
Harvard: 0-2
Penn: 0-3

How about Albany shutting out UMass Lowell, 25-0?  I get it that Lowell isn't very good, but good lord!

They're averaging something like 17 gpg. Harvard had no answers the other night. Will be an interesting game against SU coming up.

One can only hope. I will pray to the infamous lax gods on Lyle's behalf.

I suppose our RPI is helped by a team we beat handily beating a team that took us behind the woodshed. No?

Intuitively I would think in a perfectly balanced case (where neither opponent's other schedule is networked more closely with us) then that result wouldn't matter -- whatever was gained in strength from one would be exactly offset by the diminution of the other.

CU77

That's almost right, but because Cuse plays fewer games than Albany (14 vs 17, assuming they both make it to the finals of their conf tournaments), a Cuse win would be slightly better for Cornell's RPI.

So Albany loses by five partly due to winning very very few faceoffs. Albany's faceoff guy has a sprained leg or similar injury and didn't play at all. I was half watching after the half and the loss of faceoffs was brutal. If Albany is healthy  there might be a great rematch.
