So Boeheim and his cronies violated all kinds of NCAA rules -- who woulda thunk it?

Given the scope fo the findings, the NCAA (as usual) failed to impose sufficient sanctions.

I'm sure Johnny 5 will be happy to chime in ::popcorn::

actually Su didnt violate most any rules. other people did outside the athletic dept.

Aaargghh! I took the bait!! Boy, am I predictable.
Yeah, I just get so tired of telling all the locals (yokels?), "OK, Sorexcuse won, but at least our kids have high school diplomas!!"
I'm just disappointed that their lax program wasn't part of the probe.
Maybe it's time to accept that institutions like SU aren't recruiting student athletes, they're hiring professional college sports mercenaries.
Then you could let all such schools pay their players. And, these schools could set up their own college-pro leagues?
Dunno. Just a thought. I'm gonna go work on some new anti-SU graphics now. Cabin fever.

Oh, and...Go CU Lax, beat the Virgins

too bad the cornell heads didnt response like this when cornell got hit hard during our investigation a few years ago.

If stretching the rules helps teams make the Final Four, at least here it's our Upstate New York rascals.

I liked this part. When you have extra people insulating you from the things-gone-wrong, you've got deniability.
Quote from: ESPN"Much is also made in the Infractions Report regarding alleged academic violations that occurred within the Men's Basketball Program." Boeheim said in the statement. "As the Head Coach of the Program, I demand academic excellence from my student-athletes. However, under NCAA rules, I am not permitted to intervene in academic matters nor am I permitted to review academic work performed by student-athletes."

if you read the 7 page su response the stuff the ncaa tried to use to punish SU comes across pretty poorly. i see now why SU is planning appeals and possible law suits.

this would be like the ncaa coming down on cornell for a hockey player riding in a car 12 years ago. oh.. i forgot they already did that.

Boeheim is such an ass, good to see them hit him specifically with the vacated wins

The problem is the NCAA is so incompetent at these investigations as with the Miami one, Syracuse will probably win some of their appeals. How did it take them 8 years to get this investigation done? The UNC is dragging along too but would think they will get hit even harder with their fake classes

it took 8 years because they did not find one issue.. not one..   everything they found SU had already self reported 10-12 years ago. the only relevant issue was the fab melo thing and they already knew that as well and that was the AD not the coach.

Surprised Gross hasn't been fired. That nonsense with Fab Melo is inexcusable.
