Excellent.  I hope after the SU game we can say:

"It's just a flesh wound."

Can you make one for hockey that shows the guy being carried to the cart saying:  "Wait!  Oim not dead yet!"?
"Yo Paulie - I don't see no crowd gathering 'round you neither."

SU game is a rough way to open the season, and I don't have high hopes for the game, but I also don't feel that a loss will be particularly meaningful later in the season either. This team is loaded and should be poised for a deep run in May.

Yes, here's hoping.
I think my distaste for the SU mercenaries is well documented.
Maybe their lax program will be next??

And, it would be an honor.
Anybody in particular??
Maybe Bardreau or Wilcox? They're definitely banged up enough.

Go with Bardreau.  He has a more Pythonesque look.

When did lacrosse become a winter sport? At least today's game is indoors, but Cornell plays next Saturday at Hobart and in 9 days plays its first home game. It's dicey enough watching lacrosse games outdoors in March, but who wants to watch outdoor lacrosse games in February in upstate New York?

upprdeck

there is no way this game gets played today if SU didnt have the dome..

hopefully the forecast holds because the high next fri is 10 but sat is 25..

they really need to start 3-4 weeks later and play some mid week games or get rid of the memorial day ending

Then the players at some schools are on campus for 4+ weeks after classes end. Syracuse classes end 4/28, graduation May 10. Within the next generation, schools with aspirations to the Final Four will have some kind of covered stadium. It may the football full-length practice facility. We played Michigan there last year. Harvard has and Princeton is about to get a wintertime bubble that covers the field. Penn, too.

upprdeck

baseball already goes 2-3 weeks past memorial and no one seems to worry about it.

upprdeck

tough start for cornell.. took a half to start getting shots on goal but SU is pretty good and making more plays

I expected a loss. But, I was hoping for it to be less lopsided.
Given the weather of late, CU's the lack of an indoor facility, Syracuse's advantage in ability to prep.....
Just hoping it gets better from here.
It's been a long, depressing hockey season.

And, God I hate losing to Sorexcuse.

NCAA baseball title game was June 25. Baseball must be the most extreme case. Winner Vanderbilt played 71 games.

In 1982 San Diego State played 91 games.

and the ivies wont let football teams play in the playoffs and makes all the other teams start the season weeks after everyone else..  but a NCAA baseball team can play 80-90 games..

Thread drift: A sports fanatic from another Ivy school says Harvard and Yale allegedly are the most opposed to playoffs since their presidents think nothing is more fitting way to end the season than The Game. Even if Harvard has the potential to deep in the playoffs the past couple years.
