BC is up 3-1 after 2 periods in game 2.  Here's the link to the free video:

The Big Red are playing with more urgency for sure, but BC's still been the more dangerous team. The way both teams play on offense is starkly different.

We are getting solid goaltending.  The score could be a lot worse as the 3rd period opens.

6-2 at the end is a lot worse.:-/

Doug may want to recruit a few more defensive players. Through 8 periods they've now given up 17 goals.

5-4 loss at home to Princeton.  Tigers scored 3 in the first three minutes of the 2nd, Cornell comeback fell short.

After first period vs Quinnipiac, down 3-0, it's obvious that this is not a great hockey team right now. They have a lot of bad habits on both ends of the ice, easily find themselves out of position, and can't get through the neutral zone with speed. The absence of Saulnier and Jenner to the Four Nations cup hurts, but I think Doug Derraugh's absence behind the bench, as he's also away with Team Canada, hurts more. In net, Paula Voorheis has not adjusted to NCAA hockey yet, in her first significant amounts of playing time coming this year. The team needs to get much better organized and focused on the little things in order to consistently win in the ECAC this season.

Agree with all of the above. Cornell as a team is much worse then the sum of its individual parts.

Jenner is not on Team Canada's published roster for 4 Nations. Any idea where she is this weekend? If she's not going to be playing for Team Canada, it seems like kind of a waste to be traveling with them.

This may be a down year defensively for several reasons, but adding quality defense men going forward should not be a problem.  I believe Doug is and will recruit at a very high level wrt skaters.
The challenge is getting consistent and clutch goalie play.  Finding an elite goaltender should be priority each and every year.  No other player on ice makes as big a difference, positive or negative.

Although I think the ultimate weakness right now is a lack of overall organization and effective coaching, their weaknesses in terms of personnel are the defensemen, relatively inexperienced, playing very tentatively and the better two-way forwards are being taxed heavily trying to cover up their mistakes. Goaltending has the potential to be decent but that, too, comes down to effective coaching.

All you note is fixable.  Arguably, last season, those were not issues. Giving up inopportune goals was the issue last year.  Everything starts with the keeper.  Lots of good ones in the ivys right now.

I heard that she was called up due to an injury on Canada's team.

Johnston, Rougeau, Saulnier, Campbell and Jenner all playing right now for Team Canada. U.S. leads 2-1 midway through the 2nd.  Johnston has Canada's goal.

Jenner scores the winner in the shootout for Canada to claim the title. A shootout to win a championship game. Please, tell me it didn't happen.
