66 possibles in this round of voting.

Trotsky

A great second half should get Ryan attention for all-ECAC and perhaps even all-American.

Greg Carey at 1.85 points per game is probably the ECAC's only shot at Hobey this year (but Gaudreau will probably win -- factory school bias).  I really hope his brother Mike's production disappears after he graduates.

Trotsky

It would appear that BC, Maine and Union are this year's ballot-stuffers.

RichH

I like that Cornell (as well as MSU and Union) have action shots instead of generic Usual Suspects mug shots.

Relatedly, Jimmy Vesey is a child.

It's stupid (marketing is always stupid, think of the audience) but the Johnny Hockey Heisman pose is pretty funny.

Factory school bias is a fun thing to complain about and all that, but Gaudreau is almost certainly the best player in the NCAA; don't forget he led the NCAA in scoring last year (as a sophomore) too.

Oh, he's amazing.  But (1) fuck the ECAC not ever getting a Hobey except Harvard and (2) FUCK BC.

Colgate's Austin Smith was one of three Hobey finalists in 2012 and later that spring Austin Baum won the Tewaaaraton Trophy for lax. That was pretty good.

Well, yeah.  The ECAC should've won the Hobey 11 years ago.

Quote from: sah67Elliot Olshansky now believes that Joakim Ryan is the ECAC's best shot at a Hobey finalist:

He might be right.  Ryan is the dominant defenseman in the conference, having taken Gostisbehere's crown away.  We saw Carey's glaring weakness this weekend: he has zero interest in playing any defense.  And other than Haggerty who has cooled down there really isn't another serious candidate.

So vote.

Have been. And just did, giving Ryan his 1000th vote.
