Yeah, I know what the URL says, but it takes you to a page where the ECAC tickets are on sale for half off. You will buy each day separately and you can pick between upper and lower level seats. In their parlance, "Session 1" means Friday's two games and "Session 2" means Saturday's two games.

If you know you are going to be in AC, this is a good deal. You'll have to purchase the Groupon by March 3.

After the Big Red got 7 points over the last two weekends, it's tempting to be an optimist.

This is the part I love:

"Must purchase together to sit together."

Hahhahhahhhahhhahhhhaaaaaaa.  Yeah, seating is in such short supply.

And $34 is still too expensive to fill any of those seats with casual fans.

Boy, am I glad that this is the last year of AC.

Heh! Boardwalk Hall was the site of the world's first indoor helicopter flight. Consider the potential: Lynah. Harvard. Payload.

OK.  That's a genuinely weird image.

Was it intentional?

20 sales? That's like you decide to end it all, you raise the pistol ... and the pistol misfires. You're a failure at failing.

So it shows the number of fans who want to watch ECAC hockey -- not my team playing in AC -- is a few dozen strong. If AC ran the Groupon sales the Monday after the quarterfinals, they'd sell a couple thousand discounted tickets to people who would also buy them at the list price.

Lake Placid might sell a couple thousand (a thousand?) tickets to general interest hockey fans.

A couple thousand.  It's an attractive destination, hockey fans are all over the region, and most of those fans know how to drive in snow.

Since it worked soooo well for Atlantic City, apparently the Miami Marlins are giving it a try.

If anyone decides to go in on the offer and needs a place to stay, PM me for details.

I'm actually going to be in Miami in a few weeks and am going to go to a Marlins game (last MLB stadium, again). A month ago I went online to buy a ticket in advance, as I usually do when I'm travelling thousands of miles for a sporting event.  And then it occurred to me that it's the Marlins. Walk up it is.
