No, no, no, no.

Well, I'd prefer to see the Cantabs win for three reasons on top of Cornell's regional placement:
  • It would get an additional ECAC team in the tourney, even if it's for a trademark one-and-done
  • We'd get more ammuniton to mock them after another one-and-done
  • Union has never won the ECACs and I'd prefer to keep it that way

Totally agree. Especially hearing some of their comments to us as we left. It was like they've been the ECAC leader for years.

OK.  I completely disagree.:-)

  • Why do we care if it's two teams or three?  To me, three would be better only if the last team in is an at-large team.  I don't think the league's prestige is aided by a team that wouldn't otherwise have qualified for an at-large bid sneaks in with the autobid - especially if it's for a trademark one-and-done.
  • And their retort is "We smacked you 6-1.  And won the tournament"  And what if we go one-and-done or don't make it at all?  And even if we could mock them, that lasts for a year.  Their name goes on the trophy forever.
  • As insufferable as Union fans have been, one Whitelaw for them is a lot less than nine for Harvard.

With our win, and Miami, we can be:
11 with Denver, Maine, and Western, regardless of Union or Harvard. Union gets 3 or 6.
12 with N. Dakota, Maine, and W. Mich or ND, M and Mich, if H wins. Union gets 3 or 9.
13 with all other.
Unless I screwed something up.::twak::

So if BC wins Hockey East we're automatically 13?

I was just playing with the CHN thing and I was able to get us to 12 (tied for 11) with a BC win.

Thing

I just did it again and got us up to 12 (fixed here with edit - four way tie at 9) so I must have broken CHN or maybe and more likely I am on the wrong page to do this.

Denver, BC Union, Western Michigan and Air Force along with Miami and Cornell.

Now I have us at 10 with Denver, Maine, Union, Western Mich, Air Force.

Are you on CHN?  I don't know what I am doing wrong to get us to 10.

Some years ago there was a glitch where if you did not start over each time it kept adding the results. In other words you couldn't simply use the back arrow in you browser to go back and change a result.

Edit: Or maybe you didn't do anything wrong.

That's what I got, too.  Though unlikely except that Michigan may be tired from last night.  Maybe Jim's computer doesn't like Michigan losing....::burnout::

I just started over and got the same #10 result.

Just ran it on USCHO which has our record against TUC at 7-4-3 where CHN has it at 8-4-3. . .difference is that it flips at leaset the Michigan comparison if WM wins. Didn't figure out which one is right, but my guess is that CHN is double counting our win against Colgate (at least for TUC purposes).

dsk1

CHN is definitely counting the Colgate win twice.  Our RPI is too high and check out the individual comparison against Ferris State. . .shows our record against Colgate at 2-2.

Jim Hyla

I have no idea. All I know is I checked it 3 times to be sure 11 was correct. I closed that and now I get 10. I'm not complaining however.
