I thought it was "boose" not "moose" as in "bus" with a Canadian accent.

Well considering that we stole the *you're not a funnel, etc.." from clarkson I believe and stole the "awwww- see ya" from Michigan I'd hardly paint them as unimaginative villains.

And yes, I was at the infamaous '91 playoff series.

Quote from: BeeeejJayson initially has us in the East Regional in Bridgeport, as the #14 facing #3 U. Mass-Lowell, with...#6 Boston University facing #12 Michigan State in the other semi.

Considering that Michigan stole and modified their best chants/taunts from us, I figured that we could steal one from them if we do happen to end up playing Michigan State anytime soon. This is from an article on the environment at Yost.

Quote from: Detroit OnLion"warm up the tractor" for MSU

Also from the blog post:

Quote from: Detroit OnLion...It's knowing what comes after "you're not a sieve, you're a funnel...". It's hoping that after thanking the PA announcer for telling us there is only one minute left in the period that he will announce "YOU'RE WELLLLLLCOME!" It's reminding the opposing goalie every time he takes his mask off that he is, in fact, ugly, and cheering him when he puts the mask back on.

Sound familiar?

I do like this section though:

Quote from: Detroit OnLionWhere football is hindered by its excessive inclusiveness, hockey excels because of its exclusivity. When you step into the halls of Yost, you are not just attending a hockey game, you are joining a cult. You are witnessing a secret society known only to few.

I think past discussions have pointed to Harvard as the source of that one, of all people.

Harvard was who we stole it from, though they may have picked it up from somebody else during their NCAA runs of the 80's.

In the Harvard version, they repeated the goalie's name with each iteration, so the effect was actually a little better.

As difficult as it is to imagine, there was a time when Harvard actually had a decent crowd.

With Cornell now at #13 in the PWR, the latest Bracketology has us facing #4 Miami in Bridgeport, CT in the regional semifinal, with the other Bridgeport semifinal #12 Denver vs. #5 Boston University.

I like this bracket a lot, too.

Still, let's win two in a row this weekend.

That's a lot of red.

And whatever that rust color Denver is.

As opposed to this coming weekend:  Carnelian, crimson, maroon, and garnet.

So there's Red, and a bunch of off-reds.

We REALLY got MSU during the '06 series with Hail to the Victors as they skated in, and a ton of "safety schools" and "if you can't go to college go to state."

Those guys HATED the crowd after the series. Gave us all the finger as they skated off. Awesome.

I am glad that you shared that. Far surpasses Michigan's own taunting of MSU with "warm up the tractor."

For the series at MSU in Nov. '04, their crowd taunted us with "Harvard rejects" which was a perfect set up for our "Michigan rejects" response.
