Yeah, that should be even easier than one including Bemidji...  ::bang::
Let's Go RED!

Bridgeport sounds good to me.

It sounds *convenient*; I can't say I agree that it sounds *good*.  :-}

No, I'm not really a big fan of Monopoly, actually. And I don't know what "Civ" is... Civilization? I just happen to possess a working knowledge of medieval warfare. And Cornell hockey, more than anyone else, reminds me of medieval warfare.

I've been playing Bracketology for the past couple weeks.  I've ended up with us in any of the 4 brackets.  It's just far too volatile to make any firm predictions.

Cornell took an expected and deserved tumble in the INCH Power Rankings this week. We sit at tenth.

Quote from: Inside College HockeyWe guess it could have been worse for Cornell on a weekend where they were swept by travel-partner Colgate ... at least they remembered to pack their jerseys this time.

Interestingly, INCH sees something in this team that causes them to rank it above teams much better situated in the PWR: Michigan (8th in PWR), Ferris State (4th in PWR), Maine (10th in PWR), Ohio State (5th in PWR), Miami (10th in PWR), and North Dakota (16th in PWR).

Prediction: Cornell playing in a distant region on an Olympic sheet of ice that is the home rink of our opponent. And our cowbell will be confiscated because it conflicts with the home team band's Fender amps.

Given our play of late, if we manage to get a bid to the NCAA tournament this year, I will rejoice at the above prediction coming true, unreservedly and with abandon.

Is MSG not considered big? It certainly felt much bigger than Lynah.

MSG is 200x85, just like Lynah.  The seating just isn't as steep.  I'm reasonably certain that the NHL requires all their sheets to be 200x85, though I'm also certain someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You will, but Jim Hyla will rejoice with much trepidation.

I won't bother posting the entire results here, but this week's USCHO.com poll has us as #11, up from #12 last week.

http://www.uscho.com/rankings/d-i-mens-poll/

The latest Bracketology is interesting... has us in Green Bay as #15 vs. #2 Michigan, with the other regional semi #11 Miami vs. #5 Minnesota-Duluth.  That could be a great trio of games, especially with the preview it would give us of next season's Michigan game in Secaucus Bayonne New York City.

I know, polls don't mean anything, with the possibility of conference tourney upsets we probably have to win out to get into the NCAAs, blah blah blah... it's still fun to read.

Now that we're back up to tied for 14th in the PWR, we're back in the "Bracketology" mix as a potential NCAA at-large bid.

http://www.uscho.com/bracketology/2012/03/07/shuffling-no-3-seeds-to-keep-them-in-their-region/

Jayson initially has us in the East Regional in Bridgeport, as the #14 facing #3 U. Mass-Lowell, with #5 Ferris State and #12 Michigan State the other regional semifinal.  He moves Ferris State to avoid the intraconference matchup in the first round, and we get #6 Boston University facing #12 Michigan State in the other semi.

So in this hypothetical universe, we could - provided we pull off a fairly big upset over Mass-Lowell - get a rematch with BU in the regional finals in Connecticut for the right to go to the Frozen Four.  Now that would be an interesting opportunity.

I still think we should just win the ECAC tournament and not worry about the at-large bid, and I know that it might only take one or two upsets in the title games of other conference tournaments to knock us out of the top 15, but it's nice to know we're still in the mix.
