Quote from: rediceSo, what was the final Brown-Yale score.    I read 1-0, 2-0, & 2-1......

1-0 Brown.

RedAR

Well, while all the scores for tonight are not in yet, Yale is #12 in the Pairwise after tonight's loss.

you ahave to wonder if 2 losses to brown hurt yale like that, that we need a split at worst to stay inside the PWR rankings..

Trotsky

Cornell now tied for 8 in PWR with Ferris.

Quote from: ajh258It's funny how the post-game hosts for Yale mentioned how they are now gonna root for us because if we don't win they could get bumped off an at-large bid.

I don't think Yale has anything to worry about as far as getting a bid.

Well, Vermont could move up and Minnesota-Duluth could move up as well. Wins by both teams could be a jump in their PWR, especially for Vermont, who's up against UNH.

If we win Friday and lose Saturday, that's another lost spot among the top 14 teams and it's quite possible that Yale gets the boot. Yale needs us to win because if Union or SLU gets an automatic bid, then we are the next most-likely bid from the ECAC. In this scenario, it doesn't really matter how VT or MD does, Yale is not going to get a bid.

On the other hand, if we lose both games next weekend, that might put them on top because they will probably win the head-to-head comparison. That's our worst case scenario, but seeing how we've done well against Brown this year, especially on Fridays, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen.

Quote from: ajh258I'm also curious about how PWR will work out as a result. It's funny how the post-game hosts for Yale mentioned how they are now gonna root for us because if we don't win they could get bumped off an at-large bid.
If we don't win in Albany, any of the three others will take what would have been an at-large slot and could cause Cornell to miss out.

Vermont knocks off UHN in OT.  The at-large field just keeps getting messier and messier...

Quote from: ryeguyI guess Backman was missed and hopefully he will be back for the NCAAs.

He's not going to be back for the NCAAs...it was a completely shattered heel.

Now 9, just ahead of Yale.

3-2 Maine in OT.
Mankato now up 2-1 I think approximately midway through the third.  EDIT - make that 2-2 7:31 to go.
3-1 Sioux with just over 8 minutes to go.

I guess Backman probably feels like a heel right now.

(ducks, to avoid the rotten tomatoes and such being thrown through cyberspace)

Minnesota is TOAST.

UND just scored an ENG, now 4-1 with seconds remaining.

Have fun golfing goofers.
