Wow, no BB, no hockey.

Probably means the end of the UVM Justin Milo blog.

Did somebody hear a slight fluttering of air from the direction of Lynah, as if the words had been softly mouthed, "Told you so"?

Nice guy or not, team player or not, it's still too bad when a skilled player can't fit in with the team and the team decides it's better to part company.

It appears that Justin playing baseball wasn't the problem after all. ;-)

Worth reading. Also see the reader comments on why he left Cornell (one comment, merely "He left cornell because they would not let him play both Baseball and Hockey. Only one or the other." ), what's wrong with Sneddon, what's right with Sneddon, why if the fans don't shut up ... "As in the past, Sneddon will rise to the occasion. Keep whining and he will go to Harvard and make $300,000 a year. UVM has one of the best coaches in the country period. How he is able to get recruits to come play at that dump over Taj Mahals in Hockey East is a true testament about who Sneddon really is."

The Free Press quotes Milo as saying, "I was told my focus wasn't there,"

This soap opera may continue on the MLB level. That said, I hope he can fit in somewhere in baseball.  It sure doesn't look like he will be the next Derek Jeter.
"When we came off, [Bitz] said, 'Thank God you scored that goal,'" Moulson said. "He would've killed me if I didn't."

And I see Papa Milo has already added his two cents in the comments section.  Man, I really miss his posts here ;)

Apparently, false eLF rumors cross state lines and hockey conferences.

I think that was the official line from the Milo camp, so it has the patina of truth. It's rumors on all sides, though a second dismissal lends support to the "uncooperative dick" school of thought.

My recollection is that the barred-from-playing-both-sports meme began as perplexed eLFers speculated on why Justin got cut from the team.

And the meme gets repeated in the first paragraph of today's NY Post story on Milo:

Not quite sure why his story is important enough to publish. He's not much of a baseball prospect at this point.

Perhaps Kernan writes to be appreciated on two levels.

Justin Milo retired from baseball a few days ago (reported on minorleaguebaseball.com's Sally league transaction page ).

Nothing really worked out for him did it?  Strange saga.
