The Hofstra box office - with quite a confident tone - confirms that Cornell/Princeton is the second game.

W00t! (Josh, I'll try feeling bad for your DVR-woes while sleeping past 8 am on Saturday ;) )
If you're saying I'll be sleeping past 8am on Saturday, I won't be.
I'd take a while guess and say yes... especially since Hofstra is no longer there... but I have nothing to base that on and may be totally wrong.

The tickets are available online and are then picked up at Will Call.
Here's a Hofstra press release from Sunday with the scoop on tickets:  http://www.gohofstra.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=109696&SPID=13600&DB_OEM_ID=22200&ATCLID=3736255

The stadium holds 13,000 (according to their website) in case anyone is wondering like I just was.  They've never completely filled it, but the two largest crowds they've ever had were for this round of the lax tournament.  12,292 in 1999 and 10,510 in 2001.  Both of those had Hofstra playing.

After dropping over $200 on three nights of watching ESPNU at sports bars during the hockey tournament, and another $100 on a trip up to Albany, it'll be nice to see a live game for a mere $20. I'll be there.  I'm working in Queens during the day, so the later game is much better for me, although, of course, I will try to sneak out early for Terps-Cuse.

Anyone know if there's street parking near the stadium, in case I want to avoid the lots?

how far is the stadium from the LIRR stop? I'm assuming you get off in Hempstead?

Google maps says ~1.4 miles of walking. I am going to be taking that route and now bringing along a princeton alum friend. Hopefully we are still friends on the way home.

It is a bit of a trek down Hempstead Tpke from the LIRR station. There are MTA busses that run from the station to the campus/stadium pretty regularly. They accept MetroCards.

ESPN2 is showing the Syracuse-Maryland game, but CU-PU is ESPNU only.:-(  ESPN2 will have LPGA golf, instead.

Better than the trick-shot billiards they showed on espn2 instead of our game last weekend.  They did show Brown-Hopkins game earlier in the day.

Looks like they're testing the waters for lacrosse on ESPN2.  Probably why SU-UM was made the first game Saturday and CU-PU the second.  Hopkins last week and Syracuse this probably have more name appeal than anyone else.

I'm not sure Hopkins has name appeal in the ESPN2 sense. If you know that Hopkins is good at lacrosse and you surf past the game, you probably know enough about college lax to watch regardless of the teams playing. If you don't know that Hopkins is usually an elite team, it may appear to be a Division III game.

For the ESPN2 audience, the only recognizable names left are Syracuse + ACC.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm 99% in but I'll hold off buying until I know that everything is copacetic with the babysitting situation...

Is it GA seating?

Take the N70/71/72 LI Bus from Hempstead station down Hempstead turnpike. They run every 20/25 minutes on Saturdays. I wouldn't walk it :).

There's also something about a free Hofstra shuttle bus, but they only mention it running on weekdays.

There's a "Hofstra" overpass I can see on Google Street View when you're getting close to the stadium, so you shouldn't miss it. Plus you probably won't be the only one getting off.

Fare is $2 and, as CM said, takes Metrocards.

I plan on doing that from NJ, as I've sworn off driving across Manhattan/Brooklyn whenever possible based on past experiences.
