5 turnovers to Syracuse's 1; can't afford to do that
And that was the whole game. It was difficult to watch; sometimes we looked great, our fast break was wonderful at times, the face offs were great at the beginning, but we could not capitalize. The turnovers were the difference, as many were unforced errors. no way they should have been out shooting us when we had that major face off advantage at first. When they shot, they got the ball back; when we did, all to often it was one and done. But I can't say enough about the unforced errors.
Yeah, to underscore that, for most of the game we were winning faceoffs at a 2-to-1 clip and getting outshot by a 3-to-1 margin.  Doing the math, that means (among other things) an awful lot of turnovers.

Also, Jim, care to add anything about the officiating?  It's not to blame for the loss, but it seemed pretty awful to this lacross neophyte.

Here as well, they made some basic errors as well as some questionable ones. I remember the call against us when we kicked a loose SU stick. The call was correct, it was unsportsmanlike, but the fact was they didn't make it till SU complained. There was an offside called failure to advance. The moving pick calls are always difficult, and I never think they are called consistently, so I don't complain, ha,ha. One hitting from behind against SU was labeled a loose ball push and they gave us possession. Great, but the reason we lost the ball was because we got hit from behind and it should have been a 30 sec.

But the bottom line is it was our play that lost the game. The calls were annoying but didn't determine the outcome.
