Duke isn't #1 with all of the 5th year seniors? That's pretty shocking.

With the huge loss of Big Red Seniors from the 2007 team, to me a #7 rating is a compliment to Cornell's lacrosse program and coaching staff.  Expect good things again this year.

Duke has some injuries, but some of that came out after IL's rating.  They will still be good, but we won't be playing them in the regular 2008 season.

According to a posting in this thread  http://network.laxpower.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28185&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 , Cornell will host defending national champion (thanks in part to seedings that paired the two best teams in the country in the semifinals last May) Johns Hopkins for a scrimmage on February 16.

The season opens the following Saturday, February 23, against Navy in a game to be played at Uniondale on Long Island.

Which I've unfortunately just realized is the same day as Cornell @ Princeton hockey. Talk about splitting the fanbase.

The Lax game is at 1 pm, hockey at 7 pm.  Google Maps has Uniondale & Princeton being 79 miles apart.  On the road by 4 pm at the latest, give a conservative drive time of 2.5 hours...

It's doable, is all I'm saying.  :-D

Its doable, but driving across Manhattan twice in a day (or even Staten Island) is not my idea of fun -  even on a weekend. Not to mention dinner before Princeton. And it basically takes out the possibility of public transport across Manhattan the first time around, which might've been my plan (I have some family on Long Island so the 'last mile' issue to the field probably wouldn't've been a problem).

So yes, its doable, but it'd require some traffic luck - and it'd turn two relaxing days into one closely scheduled one.

Not saying i won't do it though... we'll see ;)

Guess I shouldn't have bought those tickets for the Islanders @ Devils game at 1pm.  :-D
