Haven't seen anything about Joe lately.

He is currently at 2-10-12 in 26 GP with NJ.  This might be the first time at any point in an RS he has more PIM than PTS (18 > 12).  He's second in SOG on the team, and he's playing a lot.

His career stats (not including PS) now stand at 496-483-979 in 1059 GP

He's been struggling lately....something like 16 or 17 games w/o a gaol...the longest drought of his career.  The Devils radio color guy said last nite that Burns needs to give he and Elais (also struggling), MORE ice time, not less.

I'd agree with that as no one else on that team is cscoring much either.  When Joe breaks out, he'll fill the net!  Too good a player not to...and he has been working hard so it will come!

That said....LETS GO RANGERS!!!!  :-D

Nieuwy is still stuck on 496.   ::worry::

Thought that was never gonna happen.  Maybe he'll relax and they'll start to go in again.

I heard an interview with Joe Sakic this week, who got his 500th goal on Dec. 11...just before he was shut down due to injury.  He said that it felt like he was stuck on 497 for a long time (actually, it was only 3 games).  Then he scored 2 at home and got #500 in his home-town of Vancouver.  He was very happy that he got it done before the injury.  Nice story, and I hope Joe N. joins him soon as the 32nd member of the 500 goal club.

A random aside: Brad Chartrand '96 scored his second goal of the season tonight for the Kings vs. Anaheim to snap a 25-game scoreless streak.  Only 485 more goals for him until 500!  :-)  (Of course, Brad has a slightly different role).

I think Brad should aim for Manderville's mark first.  ;-)

Congrats to Joe.  The 20 game drought must have felt like lead.

Wow, it worked!  I should bump this thread more often!  :-D

Charttrand scored twice and had one assist in the Kings 5-4 win over Anahiem. That's an incredible accomplishment on limited play time.
Maybe they will start to use him more.

WTG, Brad!

FWIW, when I saw Kings GM Dave Taylor in NY at MSG a couple of months back,  he had some nice words to say about Brad.
