Okay, a couple of years ago someone posted here that Davy was available as a ringtone, and I got it.

I just got a new phone (the LG enV, and I'm in LOVE with it), and want to try to find it, but alas, the ringtone does not appear to be available anymore.

Does anyone have it, and if so, could they send it to me as a sound file?  I don't care if it's phone-to-phone or phone-to-email...

...or does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find it again?

I don't vouch for quality or anything of the sort (don't have RealPlayer on this computer to check them out), but I found this site that has both Alma (listed as "Far Above Cayuga's Waters") and Davy (as "Give My Regards to Davy").

Can you use an .mp3?

Davy is very "tinny".

The one from the Cingular website is slightly better. I've been meaning to put that ringtone on my phone. When I upgraded phones, the ringtones didn't transfer over. Ah, the ways one can procrastinate... shop for ringtones or work on poster for upcoming conference :).

Wow.  I didn't think I'd ever hear a version of Alma slower than the pep band's....

Wait, is it possible to get a Cingular ringtone if I'm on Verizon?

I'm sorry if that's a dumb question, but whatever.

Actually, you can take any mp3 file (assuming you have a reasonably new phone that supports that audio format) from your computer as an audio file and use any 20 or so second segment as a ringtone.  I have verizon and am familiar on how to do it on thier service (you just send the file to your phone as a pix message, standard rates apply), although I am sure other services have similar features.  Except for the pix message fee, the best part is its all free.

If anyone with verizon is interested, feel free to PM and I can email your phone a ringtone of your choice, from any MP3 file.  The sound quality is in many cases better than that of a ringtone you would buy.

Including for example one of the 30 second versions of Davy on the Pep Band CDs.  A very good reason to buy one of the CDs.

For those who might want another method to load ringtones try this (you will need either a data cable or a Blue Tooth dongle):
