Should have been a shutout.  AW certainly made it sound like there should have been an interferernce penalty (and at least a whistle for a stoppage in play) because a BU player was sitting on Lenny when BU scored their only goal.  Still, I'll take a 4-1 win.

And I'll take another one tomorrow. B-]

Without a single, solitary doubt. The guy sat on Lenny and Lenny was flailing to get up. Sure, there's a chance someone could have been exagerrating, but I've been situations half of that waved off and penalties issued. Baby jumped off the bench and went over to the ref, probably got about two words in and was then waived back... and had a good minute of words with Hansen after the period.

Let's just say that the Lynah atmosphere towards Hansen wasn't improved by waving off a goal a few minutes after that. Yes, it went off his ankle/foot/skate area, but it was looking the other way and didn't even know where it is. NO way was there a "distinct kicking motion." Hansen needs a rule book.

Both calls were really bad!!  From where I sat, Lenny did NOT have a chance to get up.  And the Non-Goal was a deflection off the skate...no kicking motion.

As for the rest of the game, CU played really well.  They played just about a perfect third period allowing BU very few scoring chances.  A repeat performance on Sunday would be great.

The Thanksgiving crowd was pretty good by the numbers, probably 95% of the seats were filled...a bit quiet with a lot of students off.  Should be a lot louder Sunday.

Awfully tough for us to kick it in when our man isn't even facing the goal.

::rolleyes::

Maybe it deflected off us indavertantly....I think even more likely, a BU guy was the one to touch it...But overall, I don't see anyway the call could have been an intentional kick-in on us.

DeltaOne81

It definitely deflected off us. It definitely went off the foot area. It was definitely 100% unintentional, short of being intentionally in a good position.

If that is the best the ECAC and HE have to offer it's a sad day for officals in college hockey. The second period was quite possibly the most poorly officiated period of hockey I have EVER seen. He missed calls, made bad calls, allowed a BS goal, and then waved off a legit goal . I hope we can do better than ::help::  Scott Hansen ::help:: tomorrow night.

All-in-all the guys played a great game, Dave was solid in net and the rest of the team was moving well with and without the puck. A very impressive effort from top to bottom.

Let's GO Red!!!!

I think that Hansen saw the Cornell player push the BU player into LeNevue, and saw nothing after that until the goal. If this is all he saw, he was correct in his call. If he saw the BU player holding LeNevue to the ground and ignored it because he was pushed there, then he was incorrect.

From my view (Section C), LeNeveu was unable to get up, as he was being held down by the BU player.  How can that NOT be interference with the goaltender?

I didn't see an intentional kick-in on the disallowed goal, but my vision and view aren't wonderful.

According to the program, we get the same officials again Sunday.

Hansen seemed inconsistent.  He started out calling Baby on a very marginal call in the first minute of play - as if he wanted to call a tight game, but by the second period, it seemed that he'd let anything go.

Hansen may well be one of the best refs we get - but he blew the call on BU's goal, IMHO.  His call of the disallowed goal was quick and emphatic - maybe he was right - but it didn't look like a kick to me.

All in all, a strong team effort and a mostly well-played game.  Sunday's game should be a good one.  Getting up early on them again would be nice, but I'm not sure we can count on a BU goalie having only a .250 save percentage often.

LETS GO RED !

I expect we'll see Fields tomorrow.

I absolutely agree with you Al.  I'd be shocked if they didn't start Fields tomorrow.

Before we go and get too cockey here, let's remember that we beat BU's freshman second string goalie (who's never even made a HEA start).
