Harvard Sucks!

But, by association in that "Athletic League" I guess we suck too.

Unfortunately, they indirectly bash us, too.  Read the caption.  At least we are not mentioned by name, let alone in big, bold letters.

Marty pointed that out at the bottom of original post:[q]But, by association in that "Athletic League" I guess we suck too.[/q]

Woops!  Didn't see that.  In the middle of finishing a thesis, and haven't slept much in the last couple of days.

Looks like some magazine editor couldn't get his kid into Harvard...

Well, that's a basic sentiment I've had for years: there is no one "best school" for all students; everyone should strive to attend the school that's best for them.  However, that may not mean forgetting the Ivy League; each of the Ancient Eight is a good fit for many students.

Exactly. Just like the stories 10, 15, 20 years back about being aging and still unmarried (aging could mean hitting 30) and another bunch about being childless. Often this national trend coverage springs from a bunch of editors being in the same boat and figuring if it affects everybody around the six-person dinner table, it's a national trend.

The New York Times' erstwhile ombudsman, Daniel Okrent, noted in one of his parting pieces, that the Times was equally likely to run Page 1 stories about the problems of lesbians adopting as about straight couples adopting. His point being that an observer living west of the Hudson might be forgiven for wondering if the paper was somewhat out of touch.

::rolleyes::

It's great to know that Michigan, Colgate, RIP (Hockey is big on campus; RPI has a Division I team that's won two national championships.)  and BC are part of the new Ivys.

Can Clarkson be far behind?  (Did I just hear a bell?)

Can Clarkson be far behind?  (Did I just hear a bell?)[/quote] I was wondering when someone here was going to find this. It was the headline on www.rpi.edu, but now has only a small link on the right of the page. The specific link is http://news.rpi.edu/campusnews/update.do?artcenterkey=1683.

As an RPI alum, I am happy when RPI gets the publicity, but don't think it or most of those other schools are close to the Ivies. It also seems odd that many of the better academic schools that justifiably could have been included have been left off.

I'm sure that Newsweek will be surprised when Colgate turns the invitation down.
