I apologize for violating the hockey forum's topicality shield.

Something damn special is happening this spring. For those who haven't been following it, the Cornell men's lacrosse team is undefeated and likely to be ranked second in the nation by the end of the day.

But it's deeper than that. This team is just fun to watch, whether you like high-powered offense, big hits, or hustle like you wouldn't believe. They're destroying teams, and they haven't even had a game that's close to perfect yet.

Do you remember that goosebumpy feeling in 2003, when you sensed that something extraordinary was developing at Lynah? Like the planets were realigning or something. It's happening again. The timing couldn't be better for Cornell's alumni base in the mid-Atlantic, with upcoming games at Penn (this Saturday), at Harvard (April 8), at Princeton (April 22), perhaps to be followed by the NCAA quarterfinals at Stony Brook or Towson -- and then the Final Four in Philadelphia, where more than 50,000 people attended last year.

So please join us next door. If you've never seen lacrosse, give it a chance.

The weather is good; come on outside.

Well, "redemption" implies there's something to be redeemed, and personally I think the hockey team has nothing to apologize for.

But your point's taken, and lax is a lot of fun to watch -- and it has a familiarity for those schooled in hockey.

And, Cornell is at the top of Lax's PWR at the moment: http://www.laxpower.com/update06/binmen/rating01.php

Everyone knows the PWR is a joke.  Duh.

Laxpower's rankings are calculated very differently from PWR.  They may be equally worthless, but they are different.

I'm well aware, Al.  Hence the sarcasm.

But getting back on track, it is definitely exciting to be able to turn our attention to what the lax team is doing thusfar.  I'm looking forward to seeing them down at Princeton in a few weeks, and hopefully a month later as well...

Moose

where do you find the current lax polls, Thanks.

Oh, lay off the Swami...  He may be a windbag, but his comments regarding Cornell seem to be motivated by a profound (dis)respect, something to which any hockey fan should be able to relate.  Anyway, the drivelings of him, his con(cubines)federates, and the Big Boyz are much more entertaining than anything over on Laxpower, except maybe the circularity of the fictitious JHUxxyys.

I just can't win, can I? On the other thread, I note that he has Cornell as #1 and get shot down for giving credit to a windbag. Now I call him a windbag as a joke, and you're giving me a hard time? Thanks...

So, should I go back to the other thread and upbraid the other poster for upbraiding you?  ::fight::
