Hi everyone
Need some help, after 2.5 grueling years down here in the caribbean, i will be heading back to the USA for my clinical rotations in veterinary school. Just found out I will be going to purude university. needless to say they dont have their own hockey team. But does anyone know of any minor league affiliates in that area at all? chicago is about 3 hours away, which i could make if necessary, but am looking for ideas
Thanks
matt

I don't know how far South Bend is, but there's NCAA D-1 hockey there.

Are the Indianapolis Ice still around? [Edit: Yes, but they have gone from the IHL to the CHL (Central Hockey League). http://www.indianapolisice.com/index.html . I am sure that VicB and RichS will be happy to know that Todd White is first on the list of famous alums of the Ice.  They also mention a goalie named Hasek, but almost as an aside.]

Check out  www.theahl.com and www.echl.com to find out about minor league hockey. There are other leagues, but I know nothing (as opposed to next-to-nothing) about them.

The only other thing I could find was the UHL's Fort Wayne Komets (www.komets.com) - I believe they're formally of the IHL too . AHL, ECHL, and WCHL don't. If you're anywhere near a border, there's choices in Illinois, Ohio, and Kentucky too (I don't know Indiana geography).

Odd note: The ECHL and the WCHL are merging next season... the xCHL? ;-)

If the ECHL and WCHL merge, the obvious name is the CCHL (Coast to Coast Hockey League)

When Section D was the place to be

Cute ::laugh::

Actually, the ECHL is technically "expanding" to include all the WCHL cities, so it may stay the ECHL (which would be a misnomer, I actually like CCHL), but the end effect is the same...
