Fourth is a reasonable place for Cornell to be now and maybe finish the regular season. 2-3 are close in points as is the Cornell-Michigan band of 4-5. Beating up on cripples the rest of the way can't move Cornell up much although losing could push Cornell down. (Start by rooting for Fair Harvard against BC tonight in the Beanpot consolation.) It does feel nice to see BC at #2 and realize we were able to play BC to within one goal (plus the ENG).

So does the 2:1 flip-flop in first-place votes for Denver and BC indicate western bias at USCHO and eastern at USA Today? ;-)

While #4 is probably about where we should be at, we didn't deserve to go up simply for throttling Yale and Princeton.  I suppose it's really that Wisconsin went down for only taking one of four points from Denver, but then again, Denver was #3, is now #1/#2, and is still the defending national champion.

The rest of the ECAC can move up to having a good weekend against Cornell and Colgate. We don't have that luxury because we are the 800 pound gorillas of the ECAC. I think the voters are simply recognizing that 9-0-1 is a pretty good streak no matter how crummy the competition.

yes.
4th is maybe a little high, but you gotta recognize the streak. plus, they are still doing everything they are supposed to be doing so how can you argue moving them up? maybe if Cornell was playing in the WCHA they would be scoring an extra goal or two a game against teams that are all O, no D. everyone knows the ECAC is stacked for goalkeepers and plays a more defensive style, thanks to a team that wears red.
