I thought the Wisconsin penalty shot taker actually moved backward slightly (and they're actually taking about that right now on the intermission show).

It seemed likeOSU might make their own challenge of the penalty shot for that reason, but they didn't.

Another cool moment was the Wisconsin coach asking his players who wanted the penalty shot rather than assigning it.

i thought this at first too, but on replay it looked more like she pulled the puck backwards but kept her momentum going forward. an incredible sequence.

i also thought the penalty call was justified; the puck does squirt out but only after the badger jams her stick underneath the buckeye's prone body.

absolutely brutal unforced error by ohio state to commit a penalty on a truly awful line change with under two minutes left.

Yeah, I figured that was what they were talking about.

The too many "men" was a major f-up.

I just saw the replay.  You're right.  She continued her forward motion.  Amazing shot under serious pressure.

Simms, who scored the game-tying penalty shot goal, wins it in overtime for Wisconsin. Among the most emotionally brutal losses you'll ever see on the Ohio State side, who in many ways played the better game.

wisconsin came out looking for blood. ohio state got the first good rush but the ice tilted the other way and never straightened out. wisconsin almost score three times in the first two minutes of ot. that dam was obviously going to break unless ohio state was able to get numbers the other way on a bad deflection.

Random thing I remembered the other day: Way back when, Julie Sasner left Cornell to become the first Wisconsin coach when they started their varsity team.

Much like you could say the same for us and Q at LP.

Not to do too much thread drift, but Q complaining about the officials when they got a PP with less than 2 minutes remaining, well its just Q I guess.
