The announcer called him Ca-stang-a.  They don't have Italians in Burlington?

Even if there aren't any Italians in Burlington, Game Notes provides a PRUH-NUHN-SEE-AY-SHN GUIDE:  KUH-stan-yuh.

If you ever want to have a good time, ask South Dakotans to pronounce "DiGiuseppe".

They certainly do lol.  I grew up in the Burlington area.  In my high school we had some actual italians from italy; the father worked for rossignol and had moved over here on temporary assignment while i ws in HS.   Three brothers: Franco, Guido, and Ducho.   Franco taught us how to swear in Italian, which was useful, because at the time you could get defaulted from a HS tennis match for cursing, and noone on any other team had a clue wtf we were shouting out.  (Our coach had to pretend not to know either...)

However, in one of my favorite evergreen stories, during the last week of school our senior year, they let a few of the international students do part of the morning PA announcements in native language and then English.  Franco read his properly but then adlibbed an insult hurled at one of the guys on the tennis team- we'll call him Joe Smith - something like "Joe Smith ... cazzo corte y tota la figa puzza"

Granted my transliteration is probably off, but google it for the gist.   Needless to say, the only people laughing in the school were those of us on the tennis team and Franco's siblings.   The only one NOT laughing was the Spanish teacher who absolutely knew some Italian and she wasn't happy.  They made the kid apologize the next morning on the PA to anyone he might have offended the prior day, which of course made it worse because then there were 1000 students asking wtf the guy had done the day before. Good times!

There was also an italian family down the block from me.  The parents had come over before the kids were born, but they gave all the kids like 4 or 5 names that were all incredibly italian sounding.   The biggest cheers at graduation always happened when one of their names got read off because they were so freeking long and alliterative.  (two of whom were also at Cornell at the same time I was)

Seriously tho, we get the absolute rookies of sports broadcasting on the locals here.  And relatively speaking, that guy seems far better than the average for the market.
