Wow, that's excellent.  (In a "ridiculous sexual act" kind of way.)  My hunch, though, is that the original source was actually talking about an air conditioner that you use to cool the air, and was just using it as an (underwhelming) example of the poor behavior of college athletes.

Agreed. I think they meant "they run the AC 24/7 regardless of how much it costs, regardless of whether they are home or not" and possibly "even if other people wanted the AC turned off." (Like Albert Belle, who set the thermostat in the Indians locker room. When someone moved it, he moved it back and then took a bat to it so it couldn't be changed again.)
